The views on the way are just spectacular, you can see miles and miles of fantastic nature on both sides of your route, on a good weather you can also see mount Teide of Tenerife.
If you are able to hire a car, and you are confident driving on bendy, steep roads then this hike from the small roadside car park up to the summit of the second highest mountain in Gran Canaria is a must and well...

There is a lovely walk from the car park by the little museum (which was closed when we visited) up to the foot of this towering rock, where there are archaeological remains.
Small car park but you can drive quite far and still get a good moderate hike away from it all.

On the road to the Pico de Bandama viewpoint (great 360 degree views of Las Palmas, the Caldera, the central mountains and the sea), you can park along the road and hike around the caldera in 60-80 minutes.
Very interesting and fascinating to imagine how it is created by the nature.
Doramas Park Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 16.4 km away
#5 of 17 Nature & Parks in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
This beautiful park is clearly one of the best - and it's free :) Nice and interesting plants and flowers, fountains, waterfall, lots of benches, swan and fish you can feed, friendly big butterflies.
It is a great park to be with the kids, it is always fresh and it has many trees where you can seat under and simply relax and enjoy nature.
