What travellers are saying
- aldavrilWollongong, Australia1 201 contributionsJust amazing. The way it used to be. Roman town responsible for the supplies to the armies who guarded Hadrians wall. Commentary as you walk around the ruins and a interesting museum as well.Written 17 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin SPontypridd, UK6 253 contributionsIt looks like a later period fortified Manor house but in fact dates from the 13th century just with alterations and additions over the centuries. Internally it has retained its medieval character. Large open rooms, wooden beams, fireplaces, archways, it somehow just evoked history in a way other structures of the same period don't.Written 3 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - traveller1648Kingston-upon-Hull, UK82 contributionsWhat a truly amazing place. Let's assume that you are interested in the usage of plants in medicine.
This really is the Holy Grail of plant medicine. . Every conceivable British plant with a clear notice showing its name, it's medical properties, specific research using it and the plant in folklore.
The garden is huge.. The plants are arranged in types with similar plants growing together. They fill the garden and are the only focus (in many gardens they are an aside). Took us 2 hours leisurely exploring and then we had to leave as they were closing.

- Linda AMilton Keynes, UK54 contributionsWe have had 4 Paintings now from the Wellington Gallery. The last two were commissioned mining art from Bill Hindmarsh as a surprise for my husband’s birthday. As a Geordie from a mining family he was over the moon with the atmospheric sense that the paintings exhibited. Can’t thank the Gallery enough for their knowledgeable advice and friendly service.Written 10 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Meg A5 contributionsAmazing place. So many beautiful items in store and well presented. I purchased one of the Denim jackets with the pretty floral fabric bits sewn on. Highly recommend a visit here.Written 3 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- patricia wstranraer198 contributionsFound this cosy little establishment
Staff very attentive. Ales were of good quality and served at the correct temperature and with a smile. Roaring log fire. No food being served. Well behaved dogs welcome. The only blight on the afternoon was someone thought it was funny to put the soap container outside the gents stall on the floor ,as my husband is very unsteady on his feet he found this very concerning, luckily he saw it and didn't fall over into the urininals. We feel that it's sad that there are still individuals around that think it is funny. Albeit this happened to us it is a great pub and locals and visitors alike should fine this fine pubWritten 26 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Corbridge has some lovely places to eat and drink and lots of nice little gift shops and is a very short walk from the accommodation. Will definitely return.Written 28 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
