It’s waste of time if u a traveller and coming from some other city. Area is smaller than Lodhi garden park in Delhi.
Animals it has are bear, tiger, leopard, lion, 12 singa and deers.
If you from Palampur or nearby then this place is good if u have kids below 5years, u can easily spend half day in zoo and 1-2 hours in kids swings.

While there is rainy weather, it's a great and nice trip to that zoo. Such a Good Approaching road and location is very nice there. Variety of animals are there and great location. visiting there is like watching every part in a single place.

Cheatersss of Dalhousie!!
Be alert and attentive at ticket counter while you pay the fee and other charges.
Person at the counter will try to confuse you with the money..
If you pay 500 or 1000, make sure you get your balance amount..
If you forget to take your balance amount they takeaway your money.. if you recollect and return to take your money, they say we have already given you the balance.
They remove the extra money from their collection and balance according to their tickets sold.
Not much variety of animals..
We have visited it since it was there in our package. One can avoid and visit some other place.

Quite a nice zoo for children. Animals are more in their natural habitat and not in a zoo format. Some nice Himalayan bears, vultures, other birds, and of course plenty of deer, monkeys, squirrels, etc. I recommend this place if you’re driving by and wish to entertain your children. The walk in the zoo also is refreshing and gives a mild exercise

We stopped at Gopalpur zoo from expectations of Himalayan wildelife. Rs.20 being entrance ticket reset our expectations. We cited Grey peacock, Grey parrot, Himalayan Goral, Himalayan Vultures, Eageles, Leopard and Leopard cats.

Gopalpur zoo is on the outskirts of Dharamsala. Its location is awesome surrounded by lush green mountains. The natural beauty makes it an ideal habitat for animals. The variety of animals is though limited. Can visit here with kids to enjoy the place for some time. Entry ticket is nominal. Zoo remains closed on every Monday. Timing are 9AM to 5PM.
Some of the major attraction of the zoo are Lion, leopard, Himalayan black bear, porcupine, Bhutan Grey Peacocks, sambar deer, barking deer, ghoral, wild pigs, Cheer Pheasant, Red Jungle Fowl peacocks, vultures, eagles, etc.

Interesting Zoo with variety of wild animals. The Zoo is well maintained and is situated on the main road between Palampur & Dharamshala.
