Excellent food, duck breast, roast lamb, sausages, etc. The service was absolutely first class, the atmosphere was very nice. The price-performance ratio is absolutely first class for the quality. We will definitely come back.

Wie im Zauberwald. Die Ruine ist von allen Seiten schön anzusehen. Ein Besuch lohnt sich sowohl zu Fuß als auch mit dem Rad, wobei hier schon ein bisschen Kondition bzw. E-Bike zu empfehlen sind.
Wunderschön im Wald gelegen mit viel sehenswerter Natur rundum.

Die Burg Ruine Rodenstein lässt noch Fragmenten das was an 1260 erbaut wurde erkennen. Ein Rundgang lohnt sich vor allem mit Kinder. Kleine Wanderung um die Burg herum sind möglich.

Eine schöne Ruine im Odenwald, auch zum Klettern für Kids. Für Burgenromantiker und Wanderer genau richtig, die Wanderwege im Umkreis sind gut ausgeschildert, wir haben den Alemannenweg getestet.

Super Lage, draußen im Sommer schönes Ambiente, tolle Atmosphäre, sehr gutes Essen für alle Geschmäcker, d.h. auch für Vegetarier und Veganer. Hut ab! Habe es aus Interesse ausprobiert, da es selten wirklich gut schmeckt. Aber heir war es perfekt. Der Service ist nett und aufmerksam und der Wirt selbst ist sehr sympathisch , Gästenah und packt auch draußen im Sommer selber mit an, wenn es sein muss. Nochmal Hut ab! Schade, dass die so selten offen hat, ohne Reservierung schwierig. Trotzdem jederzeit eine Wanderung dorthin wert.

Seit mehr als zwanzig Jahren wohnen wir in Reinheim. Als wir hergezogen sind, waren unsere Söhne vier und zwei Jahre alt. Schon damals waren wir alle vier begeistert von diesem Gemäuer und seiner Umgebung. Wie oft wir seitdem diesen historischen und zugleich malerisch-verwunschenen Ort besucht haben, ist gar nicht zu zählen! Auch heute noch besuchen wir ihn gern - mit unseren erwachsenen Söhnen. Und wir sind immer noch so begeistert wie damals. Auch wenn entfernter Besuch bei uns ist, die sind ebenfalls immer fasziniert. Unser Ältester, ein begeisterter Historiker mit Schwerpunkt Militärgeschichte, hat viele Informationen zum "Geisterheer" des Rodensteiners gesammelt und sogar ein Gedicht darüber verfasst. Vielleicht wird er es einmal bei Gelegenheit hier veröffentlichen ...

Die Burgruine liegt in einem kleinen Seitental und ist nur über einen schmalen Weg zu erreichen. Parken kann man unterhalb beim Hofgut.
Die Burgruine liegt sehr romantisch und verwunschen oberhalb des Hofguts am Berghang im Wald. Das Gemäuer bietet sehr schöne Fotomotive.

Die Burgruine ist eng mit der Sagenwelt des Odenwalds verbunden. Sie ist sehr schön gelegen und mit dem nötigen Interesse, gibt es viel zu entdecken. Speziell im Herbst, kann man hier die "mystische Stimmung" spüren. Man sollte jedoch unbedingt gutes Schuhwerk anziehen.

Der Besuch der Ruine lohnt sich besonders für Kinder ist dies ein Abenteuerspielplatz. Unter der Ruine kann man gut einkehren. Nicht weit davon entfernt ist ein kleiner Wasserfall.

Zur Burgruine führen zahlreiche Wege durch den Wald. Wer keine Wanderkarte dabei hat und sich mit dem Zeichen- und Nummernsystem nicht auskennt, ist verloren. Wünschenswert wären Wegeschilder mit Zeit- und Kilometerangaben, die zur Burgruine führen.
Schade, im Odenwald sind soviel ungenutzte Potentiale für den Tourismus! Die Landschaft um die Burgruine herum ist bezaubernd, da ist ein kleines Tal im Wald, durch das ein Bach fließt. Die Felsen herum sind moosbewachsen. man fühlt sich wie in einem Feenwald.
Leider fehlen Sitzbänke für ältere Wanderer und die Wegebeschilderung (Namen statt Nummern).
Nach dem Besuch der Burgruine sollte man aber unbedingt im darunterliegenden Gasthaus einkehren. Dort schmeckt alles sehr lecker.
