We went the day we arrived (at 2pm) after coming trough van-boat-van. It was a great way to spend our afternoon. We come from Belgium, so we really wanted to do a chocolate tour. We were lucky to have a private tour. Everything is explained...More

Bob is so knowledgeable and passionate about the chocolate making process and took us through each step. We got to sample chocolate at different stages and try some chocolate drinks. Due to our science background, he even spent a little extra time with us explaining...More

We really enjoyed the tour. Bob was really knowledgable and we learnt loads about the chocolate process and really enjoyed tasting the chocolate and hot chocolate. We then stayed on at the restaurant for the evening and enjoyed a delicious meal.

Bob is awesome. He's a true New Englander at heart with a passion for the environment and chocolate. He offers different samples of chocolate (that have been processed in different ways). It's a must go. 15 dollars is a bargain for this tour!

Great tour and lesson and the production of chocolate. Spent hours learning and taste testing the various steps in chocolate development, and the whole thing only cost $15! Of course we spent more than that on truffles afterward...

I agree with other reviewers... This will ruin you for simple "chocolate" forever. Bob will spend as much time as desired explaining the chocolate process, and allowing you to taste each step. We were there for almost two hours and lived every minute. I agree...More

If you are anywhere near Monteverde, go on this tour!!! So interesting to learn about how chocolate is made from beginning to end, to see it in action, and especially to taste it after each stage. Bob is a true chocolatier and makes great products!
