I came here thinking this was THE white horse (there are heaps) and this one isn't even very old, and it's covered in concrete to protect it. We still loved it anyway. The drive up is great, sheep were a great interest for my children,...More

After 40 odd years to see the horse again was terrific , I had to drive up and walk over Bratton Camp, (old age fort) to look out over the land below, I was home again.

There is no better place to spend a morning/afternoon or indeed the whole day than at Westbury White Horse. An area steeped in history. Tremendous views over the Wiltshire countryside and a lovely area in which to take a gentle stroll or a more strenuous...More

Great view over Westbury, Trowbridge etc. Lots of dog walkers and solo walkers. A nice spot. Great spot for photos and also if you look across Salisbury Plain no light pollution as well.

We stayed just down the road and were disappointed to find that the horse had apparently been "improved " with a cement coating, now greying and showing a patchy appearance.

Lovely view from the top at the car park. Very peaceful and a great place for families and dog walking. Went for a walk by the horse and the views are stunning. We also walked around the neighbouring fields, mostly full of very noisy sheep,...More

Was working down here and thought it may be worth a look. As a child I was always told it was a chalk carving, little dissapointed to find it was concrete almost like a skate park. Nonetheless the views are nice and it was a...More

The Westbury White Horse is easy to find on the B road out of Westbury and well sign posted from the town. There is a large car park behind the horse and great views over the area on a clear day. The access road to...More

The white horse carved out in the hill side is so large that you can see it travelling by train from Salisbury to Bath.

Yes if travelling to Exeter/Paignton/Plymouth etc. from London the White Horse is visible especially if you sit with your back to the direction of the train. The White Horse is about 3 mins out side Westbury and 15 mins past... More

There is a car park, but you have to realise that this is a chalk escarpment leading onto Salisbury Plane. The horse itself is on an angle of 60 degrees maybe more. You will have to cross a small road, go over a style walk... More
