The white horse carved out in the hill side is so large that you can see it travelling by train from Salisbury to Bath.

The views from the White Horse are awesome and so much better now that the old concrete factory chimney has gone. Room to roam and let the kids have a little freedom. The view is also awesome at night across Wiltshire

The views from the top are excellent both from the car park and walks around the hillside. Space for children to play games or fly a kite. Take a picnic and enjoy.

Driving south through Westbury, its hard not to notice the stunning well proportioned White Horse carved into the chalk down lands - one of the most impressive in the country.

We visited the white horse as we were staying in the area. The car park was quite busy for such a cold and breezy morning. A short walk took us along a ridge to the very tip of the horse's ear. We didn't realise the...More

Excellent views of West Wiltshire into Somerset and the mendip hills. Plenty of level walks but you can incorporate hills if you wish. Plenty of parking. Lots of dog walkers and families having fun..

There is a car park, but you have to realise that this is a chalk escarpment leading onto Salisbury Plane. The horse itself is on an angle of 60 degrees maybe more. You will have to cross a small road, go over a style walk... More

Sorry for the delay in replying. I've been at a conference for a week. It depends how close up a view you require but if you travel on the road from TROWBRIDGE to Westbury ( see a map) once you pass through Yarnbrook you... More

This question was asked some time ago but for anyone else going to the White Horse the answer is No. You would need your own transport, or walk ( steep climb) or get a taxi
