The museum building by Renzo Piano, is something else.... It's not a museum building built on some field, but the building itself is connected to and part of the landscape. Large windows let plenty of day light inside to the exibition. The art collection is...More

Recently visited during my stay in Basel. I'd recommend about 1hr 30minutes to walk around the entire gallery. There's a great selection of artwork which changes on a regular basis. Was great to see work by Picasso and Monet to name a few.... You can...More

Wonderful inside and out. The large and small rooms are open and bright. Uncluttered collections allow space and time to contemplate while flowing gracefully through the selections. Will definitely return each time I’m in Basel.

Be well advised that if an exhibition is taking place, most of the permanent collection will not be on view! The website does not clarify this, and neither does the Tourist Office. I understand the Foundation's desire to remain relevant to its local viewers, but...More

Strongly recommended to visit the gallery on a recent visit to Basel. The receptionist, when we arrived at the museum, implied to us that the other main exhibits were on display apart from the Francis Bacon and Giacometti special exhibition. That persuaded us to pay...More

The building and the grounds are magnificent. They could get rid of the menacing sculpture of a giant rabbit in the pond, behind the building. Its really ugly. The exhibit that we saw was Bacon and Giacometti. One would not think there to be much...More

For the rest of August, the permanent exhibit is not available for viewing while they set up for the next exhibit. The current exhibit of Giacometti and Bacon is nicely presented. Bacon's art is a bit hard to take but it was definitely interesting to...More

The location itself is very picturesque: very nice garden with sculptures that faces a field. The building of the museum is amazing per se, and has a very cozy area where you can relax on the sofa with a book whilst recharging to continue your...More

A revelation. The way the Renzo Piano building and the landscape don't merely frame or showcase the art, they interact with the art. I have never experienced a museum so perfectly designed to be in conversation with a collection. Thank you, Messrs. Piano and Beyeler

We were here for the exhibition on Giacometti and Bacon. The gallery is located a bit outside the centre of Basel, and we could easily find parking space nearby the Foundation. It is a beautifully designed gallery space, with lots of light, views towards the...More

Hi, As a student you should only have to pay CHF 13,80 at the door, but be sure to take some form of Student identity. Hope this helps, the Monet exhibition is well worth a visit.
