A fantastic tasting venue with knowledgeable and friendly staff. R100 fee allows you to taste most of their wines. This fee is waived upon purchase of R100 or more. Art and sculpture add interest.

We had a tasting of their impressive range of wines and added a cheeseboard. The tasting itself was free, as we bought some bottles of their rosé (the reason we were staying in Tulbagh, after trying it in a Graaf-Reinet restaurant) and the superb Seismic, commemorating the year of the great Tulbagh earthquake (and also the year we got married). After the tasting we wandered around the art. A must-do if you're in Tulbagh. They don't have a restaurant but the cheeseboard was fine lunchtime. They also have cottages but we preferred staying in town.

Lovely location just outside Tulbagh. Nice wine tasting, free if you buy wine. Very good variety of wines. Including some very nice reds and whites, as well as a methode cape classique. Recommend you sit under the oak trees for shade as it can get quite hot in Tulbagh.

Tasting experience with very mixed feelings.
They served nice MCC and rosé, three decent white wines and four really good red wines. Even red worth taking nearly 11000kms to home.
However, there were two presenters. Unfortunately first seven rounds we were served by a woman who really did not care. She told only little about wines, and did not react my wife's comments. Her right working place - that I can not imagine.
Luckily for last two wines we got real professional, we had already noticed her skills when she served some other customers in Afrikaans - which we understand too little. With that person this is five star experience.

Residing near Tulbagh in Ceres, we tend to visit Saronsberg on numerous occasions. Unfortunately this place will never see us again nor will we advise anyone to go their. Absolutely horrendous service from the manager time and time again, a very unwelcome feel when we arrive here always.
Especially for people traveling a long way to get there, you cant make a reservation, there is NEVER tables available but lots and lots of space to accommodate extra people if they just want to buy extra tables! Always out of stock on cheese boards and a rush to get you out to accommodate new arriving guests.
If you are thinking to visit Saronsberg, think again, and rather chose a place in the vicinity that would love to have your business with good service and friendly management!

Great service. Like the fact you can view the art with the first of the wine tasters in your hand. Very casual but very professional. Thought they would be stuck up and snobby with all the awards their wines have won, but not at all. Pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it immensely.

Visiting Saronsberg is like stepping into “secret garden”. Everything ties together wine tasting or events, done with style. The art collection including pieces by Pierneef and Kentridge are exceptional.

A beautiful drive up to the great architectural main building surrounded by large lawns and a large natural pool. Massive oak trees offer ample shade to wander amongst the many outdoor statues.
Interesting art work and statues throughout can be admired at leisure before wine tasting.
Excellent wines and in particular the Viognier. Please export more to the UK. Only managed to obtain one bottle a few years ago.
A small menu to accompany the excellent wines, in addition to cheese platters, would make this an ideal destination to enjoy the wine and gardens for longer

Popped in for a wine tasting very late in the day but were warmly welcomed despite the timing. The wines were very good, particularly the Shiraz which we purchased to take home. We didn't investigate further than their art gallery, so unsure about any food options or whether there is much to do other than the basic wine tasting.

Saronsberg is a winery in the quieter Tulbagh area. We shared a wine tasting outside under a large shade with views of the vineyards and well kept grounds. We bought 3 bottles to drink during the remaining days of our trip to SA so weren't charged for the tasting. Pleasant service, peaceful and relaxing location and good wines. What's not to like. Highly recommend.

Hi Jacov518,
We charge R80.00 per tasting for 10 wines.
If you purchase for more than R100.00 we waiver the tasting fee.
We look forward to welcoming you to Saronsberg.
