Subbiano, sorto dalle acque dell’antico fiume:
Colline di oliveti e vigneti accompagnano la discesa verso il fiume, e nell’antico Borgo si dispiegano lungo le sponde dell’Arno, il vecchio mulino, piazzette storiche e il Castello con la fiera Torre Longobarda.
Per scoprire il territorio potrete viaggiare in auto, in mountain bike o a cavallo, visiterete così gli antichi mulini ad acqua di Falciano posti sulle pendici dell’Alpe di Catenaia o il fiabesco Castello di Valenzano.
L’ospitalità è offerta da confortevoli alberghi, residenze storiche, bed and breakfast, agriturismi e area sosta per i camper, mentre a tavola si gustano prodotti locali, veri giacimenti, di un tempo passato. Subbiano, a pochi chilometri da Arezzo, è un modo per conoscere al meglio il cuore della Toscana Aretina, posto come ingresso al Casentino terra del Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi e della Verna, è poco lontano da Sansepolcro, città di Piero della Francesca, e vicino a Cortona.

Paese nella provincia di Arezzo, ci siamo fermati a dormire e facendo il giro del paese a curiosare, abbiamo trovato tra le viuzze strettissime questo scorcio, il castello poteva essere una chicca, peccato che è poco valorizzato.

Very characteristic and suggestive medieval castle, well maintained. It overlooks the Arno River on one side, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view. On another side, however, it overlooks Santa Maria della Visitazione, a Romanesque parish church to which a beautiful portico was added in the 19th century. Absolutely worth visiting.

E' vero che non è visitabile, ma è bellissimo l'insieme. Il castello che si affaccia sul giovane Arno, gli stretti passaggi fra le mura, una piccola passeggiata sul fiume.

Il castello di Subbiano ha goduto di grande importanza nel Medioevo perchè controllava la strada che collegava Arezzo al Casentino e il ponte che valicava l'Arno. Dell'antico maniero oggi resta soprattutto una grande torre merlata
