We visited at the end of October which is probably the best time to go. There were very few people around and we were able to wander around in blissful silence. The colours are amazing and the walking trails are clearly marked. At the end of our walk we took the horse drawn carriage which leaves from the main carpark. The ride takes about an hour and costs 10 euros for adults. I would highly recommend this ride as it takes you to a different part of the area.

Probably the most known forest in Catalonia. It's really typical to visit it in autumn, when all the leaves are yellow. There's a visitor center to advise you the best paths to walk in. The parking is not free and in autumn is crowded so I'd better to go early.

we hired a local guide who actually is a herpetologist. we did not see any snakes on the walk. we walked to both volcanoes and also thought the beautiful La Fageda d'en Jorda. It was a lot of walking and had to go back to hotel and drink some wine and rest afterwards. Definitely worth hiring a local guide thru the Parts website.

Challenging walk with lots of superb scenery to take in. We did the full circuit and it took approximately 3 hours.

We did a walk here back in July following a guidebook we have, doing a loop from Can Serra, past Sant Miquel Sancot, then Volca d Santa Margarida and Volca Croscat. We parked in Can Serra which is convenient but relatively expensive, though we did make use of the toilet facilities when we left. The start of the walk through the woods is nice, then it gets a bit steeper and rockier before going out into the open for the rest of the walk and became a lot easier. The volcanoes aren't quite as you might picture them, just being hills covered in trees really. You can't get to see much of Croscat if you walk up to the visitors centre, but can walk round to see the side that's partly collapsed. Overall it was a nice walk.
