Best done either morning or later when it's cooler. Amazing walk down through the lovely gorge with ruined buildings from an era of a simpler way of life. If you head down first make sure you stop for a drink on the way back at...More

The Mili Gorge is a stop on the Red Bus Tour which is an all-day "Hop on, hop off" service which enables visitors to access the countryside around Rethymnon. After getting off at the rather remote stop, you can walk down to an attractive taverna,...More

An absolutely beautiful Gorge to explore close to Rethymnon. There are 2 entrances near the top that take you on a gentle hike down through the Gorge. There is lots to explore on the way down. There are several churches built into the hill side...More

I read fzachary's review from 10 October 2016, followed what they said to do and it was spot on! We basically had the walk to ourselves and it was a Sunday. Birds were chirping, wildflowers out, heard the tinkle of the bells from the goats,...More

Gorge of Mili is a easy walk with nice scenes and various churches on the way. City Tour buses stop in front of it and on the way back it's worth taking the bus to the last station first and to make a round tour...More

If you don't have the time or stamina to hike Samaria Gorge, this is a perfectly nice alternative, located near Rethymnon. It's about 4 km long walk, one way, and so we opted to start at the lower elevation (towards the sea), in a town...More

There is a tourist bus that goes from Rethymnon up the gorge to a military museum & there are at least 2 stops for people to go into the gorge. The leaflet for the bus service is available all over the town.
