Well worth a visit . Good choice of geological maps for sale. Coffee an added bonus. Best to stick to main roads for travelling with campervan etc. Scenic route relies on good driving skills and Good judgement in the use of passing places.

While cycling last weekend we stopped here for coffee and cake. It was perfect. Great spot for views, cafetiere coffee and cakes. Not a huge selection but the ones I had were delicious. Moist, fresh and yummy. 5 stars for the cakes in particular.

Difficult to rate the Rock Stop. I visited mainly to learn about the fascinating geology of the area and for this, and the utterly gorgeous (and geologically interesting) location, it merits 5 stars. But the cafe, although pleasant, seemed very limited. There was only one...More

A must do if you are travelling the North Coast 500 (in season, it is closed outside of it). Good coffee and stunning views, but also a good expo about the geology of this wonderful place. Good link to the local community. It is free,...More

My friend and I were cycling the North coast 500. Our route today from Ullapool to Scourie. The Rock Stop cafe was in the middle of the most gorgeous backdrop with hills rolling into each other over the most beautiful loch. It was a sight...More

We stopped here on our way from Ullapool to Durness and had a very nice cafetiere of coffee and a slice of cake. The menu is very limited - we had hoped for scones but they just had a couple of varieties of cake. They...More

Very disappointed to arrive at the Rock Stop, only to find it closed. Another car was stopped at the same time. Surely there are enough tourists to warrant this staying open beyond early October? Guides misleading, not saying this is a summer only place. We...More

We stopped for a cup of tea but found so much more. They have a great video of the geology of the area, a fine display of rocks with good information, and a kind man serving coffee, cakes and conversation. We stayed longer than anticipated...More

The leaflet we picked up suggested this place was offering locally sourced light meals. Wanting to support the Geopark we planned our day around lunch here. We were very disappointed and left with 2 hungry children as all that was on offer were a few...More

Stunning location, perfect view of Glen Coul....and its thrust. The cafe brings them in....those poor unsuspecting souls, then the video, wall displays and rocks get them curious.......what's that a sand pit....with an Xbox ......what's that all about ?? Then they tentatively take their hands out...More
