This beach is a little out of the way of the main areas. You need a vehicle/ AVT to get there but the drive was worth it because this beach is stunning and secluded and quieter than others on the island. Swimming in this water was amazing. No jelly fish and you could just swim for metres with no worries. Loved it.

This was recommended to us by friendly locals, and it did not disappoint. If you want a quiet, no frills beach which has chairs and umbrellas (and no loud music blasting), this is your place (plus it was the least expensive chairs we rented in Greece, only 4 euros a person). The water is as crystal clear as the best in Greece, though a little tough with small children because it gets deep fairly quickly.
The far end of the beach has a cantina which provides nice sandwiches on a panini press and other things. The drive there is fairly curvy and intense, so take it slowly and enjoy the goats along the way.

This is our favorite beach on Ios. After a spectacular, but easy, descent along a winding road to the bay below, when you arrive in Aghia Theodoti there are two roads to the beach. Most go to the left, but we prefer to turn to the right in the direction of Aghia Theodoti - South. It turns into an easy dirt road just before you arrive to the most unspoilt and greenest part of the beach. The entrance into the water is easy here, not rocky as it is to the left of the beach. There this summer as in the past 11 years Andreas from Ios with his Kantina was there to offer us refreshments (Cappuccino freddo, Mythos beer, ice cream, a small grill, etc.) and local honey (unbelievably good) in the shade of his umbrellas, with his generous smile and exquisite Greek hospitality.

The wind is very variable in Ios. I find the North wind doesn’t bother me as long as its not over 35k/h, on a hot day it’s even more than welcome and it keeps the insects away. Many select the beach of the day on Ios taking into account the wind conditions. As of the end of June there has been no cases of Covid on the island. We really felt like one of the very lucky few to have been there this year.

The bus from Ios village stops first at the fish tavern 'Koukos' in the tiny settlement of Ag. Theodoti and then continues to the beach of the same name, at a parking area with some tamarisk trees. I went on by bus, whose destination is Psathi, to a spot just below the historic site of Paliokastro (300m asl), from where I started to walk - after visiting the ruins - towards Ag. Theodoti Beach.

On the Greek 'Sky Terrain' - map there is a path marked for this stretch, but this is very misleading, since in fact there is not the slightest trace of any path to be found. There are just plenty of rocks, thorny plants and all in all an almost dangerous area for walking and I am a very experienced hiker, having done this professionally as a guide.

After partly very tough 3 1/2 hours I finally arrived at Agia Theodoti Beach, where I had time for a swim before taking the bus of 4.10pm back to Ios village. The beach is quite long, organized with sunbeds, umbrellas and a canteen only at both ends, while the larger middle part is for the one's, who just want nature: sand and the sea. But here there is no shade, the only tamarisk trees are at the northern end, where the bus stops.

There are a few pebbles in the sand, but more in many parts, where one goes into the water, sometimes even quite big stones, thus all in all not as ideal as in Manganari. Since the beach faces northeast it is exposed in summer to the prevailing Meltemi winds. On the horizon one will see the contours of Iraklia islands, one of the 'Little Cyclades'.

This beach is 20min far from the ios village and it is in a very nice and calm zone. If you want to be far from busy places it is a good beach for you.
The negative points regarding this beach is that there is no bar and restaurant on the beach. The nearest restaurant is 10min by walk from the beach and this is not very convenient.
The other thing is that this beach is made of rocks not sand, so going inside the water is not so easy and you have to put comfortable shoes.
Also the see level change very fast.
For me it is not the best beach in the island, but depends on your taste.

A lovely beach, with thick sand, but you need to be careful entering the sea, because it can be rocky inside.
Price for an umbrella and a sunbed was 5 Euros....where in most beaches of the island, costed 3 euros.
Lovely clear water!!!
Bus service was once daily. It arrived on the beach around 12.15am,and left at 5pm.

A lovely beach reached by a steep winding road . No facilities here and few visitors as a result. Worth a look but take an umbrella as there is no shade

The beach took its name from the small chapel situated on the hill upon the coast. The beach is large, sandy and somewhere peebles. No facilities at all except for a truck selling drinks and food on the north side and renting umbrellas. Only sunbeds and umbrellas to rent on the south point. The water is gorgeous, clean and crystal clear. Very, very windy.
