You can get a songthaew (red bus) to Chiang Mai zoo and then there will be a line of buses to go up the mountain. Then there are buses at the top to take you down. Typically the whole thing will cost around 250 baht...More

Wonderful country Thailand...Chiang Mai is one of the beautiful city...you have to visit the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep if you are here. This is a great and amazing place for tourists and especially for Thai peoples... do it!!!

Such a nice day here, the monks are really friendly and gave us so much information on they're daily rituals! One of the blessed a couple of people too! It was such a great experience!

This is a very beautiful temple. If you can not stand the walk up the steps there is a cable car to take you too the top for a small fee. Remember to cover up and remove your shoes.

I think it must have been cultural/religious. No sign of any dancing or singing when we were there. You could check the website.
