This is a very large site that is still in the process of excavation and restoration. The ruins are best visited with a guide as the onsite plaques may not provide enough information to fully appreciate the significance of the ruins. Worth a visit.

The asklepion was a healing complex to the titular god. Surrounded by picturesque woodland, the open theatre is as stuning as people claim. The wood surrounding makes it seem almost 'arcadian'.

Outstanding place - amazing acoustics and history, but no toilets or places to buy water after the entrance - Id have happily spent the day here though

The amphitheater is truly a wonder but so is the sanctuary. While you have to use your imagination to evoke just how specular this complex was, the birthplace of modern medicine, which stressed a holistic approach we are just now beginning to appreciate once again,...More

We three middle-aged Brits visited the Epidavros site on a mid May Saturday afternoon in the heat of the day expecting it to be packed. The €12 adult fee included the theatre and museum too. This was a great deal. As we arrived a coach...More

Definitely worth a visit together with a visit to Epidaurus Theater. The Sanctuary was being actively restored while we visited, with archeologists cleaning and putting columns back together.

The main attraction of the archaelogical site is the theatre, but the rest of the site is worth a visit too. Unfortunately it isn't in quite such good condition, and a healthy imagination is required in order to picture what it must have been like...More

HI Ron, There is English information -- rather extensive-- on placards. No headphones that I saw, nor did I see tour guides available on site. We pre-booked a guide through our hotel. She lives in Napfoli and met us there... More
