The tour was very informative and educational to all ages. They have a wide variety of reptiles species.

Well worth the trip :)

Absolutely worth it! The guide working with the crocs makes a lot of effort to make it worth your time. Will definitely visit them again! Thumbs up to Crocodile Creek

If you’re in Ballito and don’t want to drive to the way more impressive Croc World near Scottborough, it may be worth a try, especially with young kids.

To get there, there is a long stretch of dirt road through the sugar cane plantations and informal settlements, which I don’t think will be driveable when wet.

The farm is small, but there are a few impressive crocs, particularly Hannibal, and to see the guides ride him is an experience. There is not much else to see or entertain thus don’t expect too much.

Was the best crocodile farm I have been too. Their knowledge and experience is something to be wowed over. You need to get there when they say feeding time as they do a demonstration and then take you around and the last part is feeding

Road coming back from Crocodile Creek is terrible during rainy season/days. Got stuck in mud and had to be towed out.

I travelled to Crocodile Creek out of season & in middle of the week around 2pm as a mom with her 2,5 year old daughter & 10 month old son. The road to get to the place is horrific. I followed the directions on their website & often thought I had gone horribly wrong. The roads are full of potholes, narrow dirt roads that go right through informal settlements & illegal dumping grounds; as a woman alone with 2 small children I felt hugely unsafe and often wanted to turn around. I then arrived and was the only vehicle in the parking lot completely surrounded by thick bushes and again didn’t even want to get out the car.

Upon entering, the facility is undergoing construction. There were builders on the roof of the reception, there were big holes where windows were meant to be, there was a lot of dust everywhere and nothing was cordoned off for safety of visitors due to the construction. The reception left SO much more to be desired. The gift shop had a few shirts, some plastic snakes, slime, about 7 crocodile skin belts and maybe 4 pairs of shoes, and some puzzles.

After trying to deal with someone at reception who struggled to understand what change I needed for my entrance fee - also website says R105 per adult but upon arrival the signs say R120 per adult. I was then told the person who did the tours was coming. I waited about 10 minutes and then started fo walk on with my daughter. We walked around the croc pens and saw The different types of crocs and different sizes but nothing overly exciting. The mongoose cage is shoved in a corner, and I think there is only 1 poor mongoose in there. The cage seems extremely old and a bit rusted. I felt badly for the mongoose.

We then moved on to the enclosures which we guessed was for the smaller animals/reptiles (as per their website which says they have tortoises, rabbits, snakes etc) Out of about 5 enclosures, one had an old snake skin, one had some croc eggs and one had 2 white rats inside. That was it. No snakes, no tortoises, no rabbits.

Regarding the crocs, the pens with glass openings in the walls (only 2 I think) for kids to see through was so dirty. A lot of the pens the walls are quite high (rightly so) but the smaller kids can’t see anything. So I had to resort to holding my baby and trying to safely lift my daughter so just her eyes could peak over the wall and then that was it. A lot of the fences and gates are old & it made me feel unsafe. My daughter was extremely excited to come to the facility after what I read on their website but was so disinterested after only a few minutes. We probably saw the grounds in 10 minutes. There was really nothing interesting. By the time we got back to the reception, the person who was going to do the tour arrived but we were already so disinterested and I had such anxiety about travelling back on that road that I didn’t want to go back in the late afternoon/dark (it was winter) so we didn’t even stay. We left straight away after feeling extremely ripped off.

I've visited most crocodile farms in SA and this was the most informative, realistic and exciting tour that I have been on. The information and demonstrations that Shawn gave us are unparalleled. He certainly know his stuff and entertained us by going into the enclosures and interacting with the crocodiles in their enclosures. You won't see that anywhere else. I learnt far more here than at all the other venues put together.

The most awful drive to get there! Dirt roads, terrible pot holes, squata camps and townships. Did not feel safe driving there as two women. Didn’t even go In. Was so glad to get back!
