Anything l say about taking this tour with Annam Tour will be less than the excitement l have had. And there is Mr. Vu, the guide, he is not just a guide, he will make you travel through the Vietnam history. He is always ready to explain you the facts and the sites where they happened.

This is a fantastic tour with an expert guide which is well worth the price.
Guide utilized an iPad to display what areas you are looking at looked like during the war, this provides an unprecedented perspective.

We wanted to learn more about the American War whilst in Vietnam and Vu was a fantastic guide and driver for us. The drive was quite long but this served as a very useful oral introduction to the history of Vietnam that lead up to the war. We visited the Vin Moc tunnels, Freedom bridge and museum, had lunch at a Pho roadside cafe near Alpha 2 on the McNamara Line, then went into Quang Tri to the citadel to see the museum and mausoleum there. A huge thank you to Vu for being a knowledgeable and patient guide, keeping our 13 year old daughter in mind during the trip, and generally looking after us so well. I have a much better sense of not only Vietnamese history but also the life of a friendly, modern Vietnamese guide.

We had an incredible tour with Vu who was very knowledgeable and tailored the day to our requirements. We have two young boys (ages 11 & 9) who although were not quite as interested as we were, still had a good day - especially the Vinh Moc tunnels. The photos on the iPad and explanations using original maps were also helpful to understand what happened during the American war. We were picked up directly from the overnight train from Hanoi and delivered to our hotel at the end of the day. A fantastic day all round but be prepared for some time in the SUV due to the distances between sites.

Mr Vu and Annam Tour I thoroughly recommend. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful and education tour. A comprehensive knowledge of history and place, Mr Vu is very passionate about his his subject. Friendly, wonderfully helpful, he was very flexible in adapting the tour, I had some specific goals which he helped me achieve and I took so such away from the time spent with him, very, very happy with our experience!

We used AnnamTour to travel from Hue to Khe Sanh. Mr Vu, our guide was fantastic. His knowledge of the area and the battles fought around Khe Sanh was encyclopaedic. His English is excellent and he is great company. He is also a very good driver with a very comfortable vehicle.
He also modified the normal tour at our request to suit our particular needs and made the tour comfortable and easy.
I would not hesitate to recommend Annam Tours to anyone.

Vu was an absolute life saver! My girlfriend and I were stranded in Dong Ha with your options around, I got in contact with Vu through google and he picked us up in 20 mins from the train station
The tour itself was very informative and gave us a ni h better insight into struggles the country went through during the war.
After the tour Vu drove us another 2 hours to our accommodation in Hue and not once did he have any negativity about the last minute trip!
Highly recommend Vu

I am a Vietnam veteran who served with the 3/187th INF, 101st Abn Div in 1970-71. I went on a 3 day tour of Hue, Khe Sanh, Hamburger Hill, route 9, and a few personal areas of interest such as the locations of Camp Evans, Firebase Jack and Eagle Beach. I personally contacted Mr. Vu of Annam Tours after speaking with Hamburger Hill veterans about how professional, friendly, and knowledgeable Mr. Vu is. He went out of his way to ensure my tour was outstanding by his explanations of battles, tactics, terrain, and by showing maps and photos from his IPAD. Mr. Vu's knowledge of the Vietnam war is very impressive, and I learned a lot from him. I read the book "Hue 1968" about the USMC fierce fighting in Hue during Tet prior to my visit. I asked Mr. Vu to also give me a tour of that battle and it was really excellent. My tour with him exceeded expectations. I highly recommend Mr. Vu.

We did a private tour with Mr Vu yesterday, visiting Khe Sanh, the DMZ and Vinh Moc tunnels. It was a memorable day and Mr Vu has an impressive knowledge of the American war. We would love to come back and do one of the multiple days tours that he offers. Compared to other tour guides we have had here in Vietnam he is outstanding.

Vu is a friendly knowledgeable guide and military historian who went the extra mile to inform us about the battle sites and their significance. A very interesting day and comfortable car/driving experience despite long distance from Hue. Highly recommended.

I will be in Dong Ha/Quang Tri. I would like to join a tour or have a private tour of the Vinh Moc Tunnels, the DMZ and Hamburger Hill. Can I be picked up in Dong Ha and Return to Hue after the tour and is there enough time to do all 3 in one day?

Yes, there's enough time, we did all 3 in 1 day and got back by 4 or 5 pm.

Tunnels and DMZ is very doable from Hue. We did the DMZ and tunnels plus a quick trip to the Phang Na caves (but it is a long day then).
If you contact them by email they are quick to respond with a costing which includes a pick up in Hue.
I recall that they also do hue / hoi an - just ask.
Otherwise there are other companies that does transfers.
Around Hue are a lot of pagodas, emperor tombs and the citadel. You can take rides on the perfume river and explore some of these. We got on the back of some scooters and moved between these - very enjoyable and you decide the pace at which you move.
If you have further questions - let me know, maybe I can help.
in Hue close to the citadel is a restaurant run by a deaf/dumb family (the one daughter can hear and speak), but very entertaining. I have the name somewhere.
Enjoy your trip - I am jealous

I left from the airport which is South of Hue. Yes they pick up in Hue. A few years ago I did Vin Moc Tunnels, DMZ, and Route 9 to Khe Sanh easily in a day from Hue.
