About
The activity begins with a delicious afternoon tea with homemade cakes and local products, during which we present the horse species from prehistory to the present day, its needs and its relationship to man since his domestication. His senses are explored to approach him not only respectfully but also safely, then we go to meet the Arab horses breeding, living freely in natural conditions and in different groups. According to the desires of each one, we brush, scratch, communicate or manipulate ... Evolving among Bedouin horses is a comparable experience to swim with dolphins. Duration of the visit: 3 hours. On reservation all the year. The activity can take place even in rainy weather. Be sure to have winter boots and closed shoes in the summer, as well as clothing that is suitable for working with animals. Feet in sandals or flip-flops can not approach horses. Price 16 € up to 14 years / adults 20 € / 25% from the 3rd child / family rate 2 adults and 2 children 54 €.

A magical afternoon
Jul 2020
We visited last Sunday afternoon as a belated 16th birthday treat for our eldest daughter and what a truly amazing experience! The homebaked goodies for the afternoon tea were delicious (I must get the recipe for the chocolate cake) and it worked perfectly to coordinate the tea with Laurence's talk about horses where we all learnt so much, truly food for thought. It was then on to meeting the stars of the show themselves the Arabian horses. From meeting the unbelievably cute 2-month old foal, Kamal, to the groups of mares and the stallions/geldings whom we could meet, mingle, touch and stroke. Our daughters especially enjoyed making connections with these magnificent horses. Laurence is a remarkable lady and her warmth and passion shine through. This is a wonderful memory that we will treasure.

Excellent, educational and fun.

We had a very interesting afternoon out today at Laurence Of Arabians in Mareuil. Laurence is a preserver, breeder, enthusiast and promoter of the Arabian horse.

It started with a extremely delicious afternoon tea and very interesting talk by Laurence Perceval on the evolution and history of the Arabian line of horses. We learnt so much.

Then we went into the fields to meet the horses, after having received careful instruction.

Co-host was Laurence's dog who put us all in line, including the horses, and made sure nobody misbehaved.

I highly recommend this as an afternoon out.

Lovely interesting afternoon

My 10 year old son and I live not far from Laurence and we had been meaning to visit for some time. We found the entire experience very enjoyable and educational. Laurence truly respects and loves her horses and this love and respect is mutual - very happy horses. As a yoga teacher I enjoyed the meditative aspect of just being in the presence of these magnificent animals and my son learnt so much too. Of course we enjoyed the lovely afternoon tea also.

Dear Lisa and Alfie, It was a true pleasure to finally get to meet each other and enjoy an afternoon together. Alfie sems so much more mature than 10 years old and was truly loved by our horses: what a great encounter! I hope we can pursue the yoga meditation among horses project! Warm Regards, Laurence

If your in this area of France, go see this place. Informative, friendly and beautiful. Home baking is wonderful but the main reason to visit is to see the magnificent Arab horses.

A great way to pass a few hours

We were looking to surprise our grown up children with something they had never done before (not an easy task) but we all found this visit interesting, educational and thoroughly enjoyable. Laurance is understandably very passionate about her 'charges' and; although we can speak adequate French; her perfect English allowed us to get the most from our tour, she also bakes a 'mean' cake. Although we are not particularly 'horsey people' we all felt it was a priviledge to pass some hours with these majestic animals and look forward to returning with other visitors in the future.

My friend and I had a very enjoyable visit to see the Arabian horses, it was only spoilt by the fact that we had to leave early to feed my own horses!
Laurence had made some very nice cakes and other treats which we both greatly enjoyed
Thank you

A unique equine experience!
Jul 2017 • Family
This is a must for all horse lovers. Laurence is passionate about breeding these beautiful desert Arabs and her approach to their development is enlightening. You will be introduced to he horses in as natural an environment that you can get. You can see how they communicate and learn from Laurence how to interact with them. Be prepared for some close equine contact amongst horses in a herd unfettered by halters. We went through fields and woods working with the horses (so no sandals!). We were lucky enough to be able to see a very young foal and this was the highlight of the visit for my teenage daughter who had her legs licked all over by the foal!
The afternoon tea was absolutely superb. Do not have anything to eat at lunch time otherwise you will fail to appreciate the scrumptious scones and vanilla cream and the unbelievable chocolate cake!

Thank you Laurence for a very unique and special visit. We will be back for the next foal!
