This monastery is 9th to 12th century period which is very old by history itself. Located in Hayravank village near by on the south west shores of Lake Seven with amazing view from the comlex. Just on the top of hill rock with stone structures...(Lots...More

Even though it is not as high as Sevanavank, Hayravank also offers stunning views of the lake and is less touristy so more serene. The site is under refurbishment but the church part is already done so definitely worth stopping. The grounds around the monastery...More

The monastery has stunning location, you can admire the Sevan lake from above. The monastery and the surroundings are very beautiful. You can feel the spiritual aura inside the monastery!

You climb to get there, the monastery is very small and you have to pay to get inside. The surrounding is beautiful with views over the lakes

This was another beautiful Monastery in a stunning setting. The Monastery was positioned right next to the lake on a bit of a hill with amazing views. The stonework and carvings of the monastery were intricate and very typical of many of the other monasteries....More

After have seen lots of churches on top of mountains, this one is on the lake and this is its best feature, since it has nothing spectacular as other can have. But it's a good pit stop if coming after some hours of driving.

Hayravank is located at the top of a hill, which guarantees great views over lake Sevan. Inside, you can buy candles from the lady at your left hand side (about 0.15 Euros each). This is a place of silence.

Not far from Sevanavank monastery, this one is also on Lake Sevan. Again, while in good shape, it's not too amazingly different from other monasteries, but this one had a hidden km long tunnel (now closed by the Soviets).

Not as impressive as Sevan Monastery but it's a nice and quiet place to enjoy the lake view without the crowd...well worth the detour from Sevan town.

Situated on a hillock the small church (9th centuray) overlooks the extended lake. It can be reached by following a short dustroad. Inside on should admire the columns, carved with crosses. The cupola consists of a drum and a conical dome above it at the...More
