Like the peace and quiet. No loud music or drunks, at least in the day we where there. Braai areas spaced apart which is a plus for me. A bit more attention can be paid to the actual braai spots, kept clean etc. Lots of small pieces of plastic packets or wrappers, bottle tops, plaster packets etc. Other than that it was okay. One more thing, if you asthmatic like me, the stairs gonna kill you on the way up lol. Adults R38 and kids under 12 R19.

A hidden gem! Stunning views. Braai spots available. Makes you feel one with nature. Wonderful place!
The only issue is that you have to go early in order to find parking. However, its completely worth it!

A gorgeous picnic/braai area situated between Llandudno and Bakoven. The small cove is surrounded by boulders making it a sheltered spot and great for little ones to potter and splash around. There are braai facilities, but please take your own wood/briquettes/braai grid etc. On Sunday while exploring the area we got an impromptu performance by a few whales further out at sea, was magnificent. Please note there are stairs to climb and is not wheelchair friendly.
It is open weekends and public holidays from 8am – 6pm. As Oudekraal forms part of Sanparks - you can visit the Sanparks site for updated pricing etc. According to their website the pricing from April - October 2018 is R41 per adult and R26 per child.

OK so it was after Christmas but the state of this beach was a disgrace - rubbish and broken glass everywhere. The beach charges an entrance fee and is gated so it would be easy enough to close it while cleaning takes place. The staff at the entrance were rude and disinterested.
Appalling. We left after 20 mins and that was too long. Clean it up.

Hi! It was a wonderful Sunday spent with friends - no wind and lots of sunshine at beautiful Oudekraal beach and barbecue spot next to Twelve apostles mountain and enormous ocean. If you fond of outdoor activities - it's place to be!!!

Beautiful picnic areas with well allocated concrete tables and seating, some shaded and some not. All have designated braai areas as well as a rubbish bin. Paved/concrete pathways to the picnic sites. Some beach access can be difficult. If you cannot do stairs do not visit. Only drawback and disappointment is the state of the ablutions, very poor. This is a paid entry area so cannot see why the ablution are not maintained.

This little beach has to be one of my favourites to visit while in Cape Town. The views are beautiful! It’s made up of little inlets, so it’s not just one long beach area, which provides some nice privacy. It is a very small beach, Especially when compared to other beaches around like Camps Bay of Clifton though. I would advise to get there early, and avoid week days if possible, as the parking area for this place is quite small (as well as the actual beach itself) and fills up very quickly. You also will pay a couple Rand a person to get in, so make sure to bring some cash. There is a tiny stand on sight that can provide some items but it is not always open, so best to prepare when packing! There are tons of places to Braai, with shade from trees so you won’t be cooking yourself, and tons of rocks and cool areas for the kids to explore. The water can be quite chilly but it’s worth it!

if you want a quite picnic spot with the family and won’t mind spending 40 rands per person (entry fee), this place is a paradise! Snorkeling, barbecue, some stunning views of twelve apostles. 5 star.

It was my grandson's birthday and we (his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles) decided to celebrate it with a braai at Oudekraal beach.
We arrived early to await the opening of the gates at 0h800.
It is a bit of a walk down several steps to get to the beach but it was worth it.
The tide had gone out already so it was quite safe, like a safe pool and with some beach space for putting out your blanket on the sand.
My grandson enjoyed playing in the shallows. We could even go out to some of the rocks. Everyone had to take turns to go with him into the water. It was a beautiful day and he spent the whole day in the water although it was cold.
Later more people arrived and it was quite pleasant - sharing greetings and laughter. My son (the braai master) started the fire for morning tea water and get a good fire going for an early braai.
Later when the tide came back in, you could feel the cold Atlantic ocean but it didn't deter anybody.
There were quite a few young people and with the incoming tide they could dive off the rocks which soon became submerged.
The lovely sandy beach of the early morning also disappeared with the incoming high tide.
Well the day had to end and then you have to lug all the camping equipment up the steps.
My calves were quite sore the next day but it was worth it.

Lovely beach. Broken glass needs to be picked up off the beach. Was given no receipt as “machine” was broken. Leaves you wondering.
