About Eagle Tours
WE INVITE YOU TO DISCOVER THE CHACHAPOYA´S CAPTIVATIONS WITH US. ENCOURAGE TO VISIT KUELAP, GOCTA, REVASH, LEYMEBAMBA AND THE NORTHERN EAST CIRCUITChachapoyas is the capital of the Amazon’s department. It is located in the Peruvian northern east zone. It is a jewel that has very much for glimpsing. The Kuelap fortress is one of our principal icons that, in spite of the fact that it was discovered 70 years before Machu Picchu, it does not yet know the real meaning that this one had inside the Chachas’ kingdom.Likewise we will find inside its beautiful mountains Karajía's enigmatic sarcophagus (the only work in the world) and The Revash's mausoleums, special form of burial and of care of its corpses.

We hired Eagle Tours in Chachapoyas to take us to Kuelap and the Quiocta caves and transport us to the Jaen airport. When we sought a change due to illness they accomodated us. They were responsive and called to check in with us. I recommend Eagle Tours in Chachapoyas.

We spent 3 days in Chachapoyas. Our expert driver Waldir picked us up at the airport and drove us 3 hours to our hotel. The next day, Waldir and Gustavo, our guide, picked us up at the hotel and drove us to Kuelap. The ruins are spectacular and there are no tourists around. We took the cable car up and walked around for hours. Gustavo spoke great English and told us about the history and archeology of Kuelap. On the way back to the hotel, they took us to Macro, another site like Kuelap, but unescavated. Wow! This was not on the tour schedule but they understood how curious and excited we were to tour with them. The next day we went to Gocta waterfall. Again, the tours was excellent and they took us a bit out of the way to see some other sites not on the schedule. Petroglyphs! The big problem was the office. We had paid half of the invoice from the US before we arrived in Peru. On our last night, we told Gustavo that we hadn't paid the other half for our tour. Nancy had forgotten to bill us. She demanded we drive 30 minutes into town to pay her. We asked if we could give the money to Gustavo. She demanded that we go to her. So I did, and when I arrived at the office and paid her, she told me that I would have to pay her extra to drive me back to the hotel! The nerve! I was accommodating and honest and she gave me a very hard time. Finally, I was driven back to the hotel but it left a very bad taste in my mouth. Waldir picked us up at the hotel the next morning and drove us back to the airport. We really can't say enough about Gustavo and Waldir, but be way of Nancy in the office.

We booked 4 tours with eagle and took 3 of the 4. I can't actually taste them because like so many places, they booked the tours but farmed it out to other companies. The first was a 'city' Tour that turned out to be for a taxi to take us around. Okay but S/50 was expensive, we could have done it for less on our own with the same amount of information received (none). The second was Kuelap, that we went with Chachapoyas adventures and was well done but not Eagle. The third was ready Mausoleums with chachapoyas tours and was not good at all. The 4th was Gocta but we cancelled after a lot of local people told us how difficult asks long the hike was. I don't understand all of the great reviews for this company, we certainly did not have good experiences with them.

Eagle Tours was the only operator in Chacahpoyas that responded to our request to arrange a car and driver for a 4-stop multi-day trip from Chiclayo to Tarapoto. And they quoted the service at half the cost that was quoted to us by an operator based in Chiclayo. We are grateful for their service helping us with complex plans that was above and beyond what could have expected.
