Aqaurium a big disappointment. Maintenance urgently needed. Bad smell. Roof leaking. Poor crocodiles.

We were surprised that we could also visit the bird park by only paying for the Aquarium. We also got a pensioners' discount. that was a big bonus! We enjoyed the animals as well as the seal show.
My husband enjoyed the monkeys at the bird park. One even touched his head, because my husband sort of made friends with the little fellow.
But unfortunately, the aquarium needs some maintenance.

We were sad that we couldn't visit the "Eifel tower" on the same premises, because it was just too expensive for pensioners.

But overall we were happy that we had the privilege to visit this place.

A conservation-focused centre stocked with indigenous freshwater species and filled with information. Their shows are wonderful to watch and interactive, and reveal that the majority of the reptiles, birds and Pam the seal are rescued and unreleasable due to health conditions. Knowledgeable staff. Hugely recommended.

The smell at the facility was bad. The service at the paying counter was very poor. I guess the drought at the time didn't help the situation much. We wanted to make use of the rides but the water levels were down. We will go back again now that there is rain and see if it made a difference

The aquarium enclosures are too small for the animals that inhabit them. The alligator, crocodile and pelicans barely have another space in their enclosures. Not to mention the enclosures are terribly dirty. The water in the seal enclosure was green with algea. As soon as you walked into the aquarium you were met with terrible smells. In the aquarium itself the fish tanks were so dirty you had to squint to see the fish. You pay a R90 entrance fee however it does not seem as this money goes to the general up keep of the enclosures.
In addition to this the enclosures were also dangerously close to the visitors. The emus were free to stick their heads through their fences and the walls of the enclosures were low. This is shocking considering one of Africa's most dangerous predators is separated from you by only a fence.

This aquarium has been around for years. Not alot of variety and it really doesn't have that wow factor. A household fish tank is more exciting.
Unfortunately many of their reptiles have outgrown their enclosures and are living in cramped spaces. The marsh mongoose share a very small space for such energetic little rodents and the water monitor's deserve more room too! The poor great white pelicans are baricaded in, meanwhile their pair of emus have no space to stretch those longs legs for a good sprint. The poor seal is all on its own which doesn't seem ok for a social animal.
Overall it is very underwhelming and saddening to see.

Not a proper aquarium, it is expensive with minimal variety. Fish you see are Carp. I'm not going to dive into alot of details but this place can be really great even though its Fresh water based, but will need a lot of work and investment. Not worth visiting

There's lots of fish at the Aquarium, but there is a lack of diversity though. There was one Seal, some Crocs and a few Turtles. No Penguins, Exotic fish and other species!! at a price of R90 I expected more and I was really disappointed by the experience.

What a jewel of a place. For only R80 you gain entrance into the Aquarium and then free entrance into the Bird Park down the road. There is a guide who gives an educational tour of the animals at this place. So it is not much of an Aquarium but you get to see Nile Crocs, hold baby crocs, pet a seal and marvel at God's creation. The place is calming and lovely to take your children. The Aquarium shows Pirhana, Bass, trout and other fresh water species. All in the name of wildlife conservation. I have amazing first experiences here.
