The course is scenic with almost all the holes going up and down hills. The fairways are also undulating, so not many flat lies here. They are also on the narrow side, so accuracy off the tee is an advantage! There are also many blind shots uphill to the green - a challenge, but thankfully the course was not packed on the weekday. If you tee-off before 8.30am, the green fee is 1/2 price, so well worth it. Overall, an enjoyable round.

Popped in for coffee one morning, while walking around Boat of Garten.
Nice friendly welcome and lovely views from the clubhouse.
Went back late afternoon, as we were going to have a couple of drinks but unfortunately the bar and lounge was closed, quite surprised as it was only about 4.30pm.

Fine and fun golf golf surrounded by stunning scenery. “The Boat” is a terrific experience. Certainly, there are Scottish courses more famous and more challenging but this is a golfing experience that’s totally worth a visit.

Hiden gem is an understatement.
The course layout and scenery ( how they managed to carve out those amazing 18 holes in 1889!) It’s absolutely amazing!
Thank you Boat of Garten and your very welcoming and polite staff 👍😘😻

Great friendly Clubhouse and Pro-Shop. We were a little disappointed by the condition of the course, more so the greens and they did admit afterwards the greens had suffered from the weather this year. That's unavoidable, but don't then continue to charge full whack (rate) when your course isn't up to scratch. Anyhow the Clubhouse staff and food made up for the on course disappointment. Excellent menu, great quality food, very pleasant service and all at sensible prices.

Visited here with friends recently. The course is set in glorious countryside with awesome views of the nearby hills and mountains.
On arrival the pro was warm and friendly and offered us some words of advice etc.
The course is lovely, tree lined with plenty of gorse and heather lining the sides of the fairways. It's tight and challenging in places but a great little course.
When we finished the round we popped into the pro shop to thank the pro and to tell him that we'd had a great time. He wasn't there but an older lady was in there. She asked where we were from, on being told, she virtually spat out the words oh England, she then said I bet your course is flat. Her attitude marginally improved when one of our group informed her that he was half Scottish.
We would have gone into the club house for a drink but after that we decided to leave.
The attitude at the end left a sour taste, I would have returned to play again but now doubt I will which is a shame because the course really is lovely.

I knew it was gonna be bad when It was Italian night. Which was very different from their standard menu. The food was very basic and poor, my pasta sauce tasted like it came from a jar. I very rarely write reviews but it annoyed me that the restaurant is lying on this page. I've seen the pictures of the food and it looked nothing like it did in those pictures which is misleading to customers.
What was worse was the head chef walking around asking everyone about their food, whilst wearing jeans , was reminiscent of an episode of Gordon Ramseys Kitchen nightmares where the chef looks to fish for compliments whilst walking round the dining room. It was also awkward because he kept staring at us from the bar. I found this whole thing odd because I've never seen the head chef of any restaurant I've been to, they've been to busy cooking great food.
Don't recall many restaurants changing its type of cuisine for the day, my local Chinese doesn't do Indian nights unfortunately. Just save your money and don't go. We only went because everywhere else was booked up.

We will be staying locally, and wondered if the Clubhouse allows non golfers in for food/drinks?
