You can walk around the plaza and enjoy the weather and small shops. The day we went there was a gastronomical fair, and we enjoied the culinary offers .

Biggest part of the square is nice, but on one of the sides is a really ugly newer building. The Cathedral is nice, not very special. The city has not much else to offer.

I've been to places like salento and villa de Leyva and really enjoy them. I too enjoyed tunja and it seems to be a place that's overlooked by tourists. Plenty of places to eat cheap local food and lots of lovely churches and colonial buildings....More

if you want to find out more about the culture you must go to the plaza de Bolivar. you can find places to eat delicious food and also little places where you can buy gifts.

Since this is the city's principal square, everybody has to visit it, from where you can visit the Cathedral, the City's Founder's Home, the Mayor's Office and a very well maintained statue of Simon Bolivar.
