Really good walk/hike but you do need a map. I managed to download one and track our progress. It's easy to get lost/deviate from the path in places. There a point where it looks like the path has collapsed and been fenced off a bit further on but it opens so you can proceed. Also it is steep in places and rocky. We did it so we arrived at the taverna in Foki near the end for very welcome refreshements.

You start this trail from the car park at the top of Fiscardo, its trail No.2 on the signs. You can walk either way as its a circular walk. We did CCW so we can the Foki Beach Taverna at the end. Be warned this means you have 1km plus of steep up hill at the start, and you will be thinking why am I doing this. The trail is well sign posted, once you understand the symbols. Very disappointing in terms if views and not a well maintained trail. Don't try this walk unless you have strong trainers and our physically fit, it is demanding on the heat and there is no nearby help if you keel over. Yes for experienced walkers, no for casuals.

We walked this as a small group, our third walk in the Fiskardo area in three days. We started from Fiskardo band walk along the road to pick up the trail up the hill to Tselentata. The path is well marked and with the Windy maps app we didn't get list those it was a bit hot by the time we finished at 11am. It took us two hours. Take plenty of water and wear suitable footwear.

Fantastic walk around and above Foki and Fiscardo! Beautiful views of Ithaki and beyond, predominantly off-road, peace and quiet, the faint smell of the forest, the clanking of distant goat bells... for us, walking doesn’t get better than this. The walk has some fairly steep sections but is overall easy to moderate. We clocked it at approximately 7 km with a slight detour as we walked directly from our accommodation. You do need summer walking shoes, and to take plenty of water, and maybe avoid the heat of the midday sun, but there are shady sections so it is not relentlessly hot. Enjoy!

The information board in the carpark clearly displays the gradient of the entire walk. Out of the main carpark at Fiskardo we went clockwise and arrived at Foki beach taverna within 30 minutes. This is the only taverna in 2.5 hours so possibly going anti-clockwise is more rewarding. Take plenty of water. Well signposted with [occasional] wooden signs and blue/white painted markers. Detour downhill just before returning to Fiskardo to view the caves. Recommend an early start - aim to be there by 08.30 at the latest.

Just sharing the attached pic of a pamphlet I picked up "Footpaths of Erissos" - with detail of Cypress Trail route. I didn't walk this route myself - just did the "Lighthouse Trail".

We found this walk advertised and it looked great but there was no mention of the steepness or terrain. We tried to run it but soon realised it was definitely a walk and not for people who would struggle with steep slopes or uneven surfaces. That said it was beautiful very varied terrain and views. Goes through cypress woods, rocky trails, villages and ruins including an old windmill. The second time we did this walk we took our children 12, 11 years and after the initial moaning about the first climb they loved it and especially enjoyed the villages and ruins.

The middle of 3 walks in and around Fiscardo taking you through the immediate countryside past abandoned old villages, windmills with great views throughout

We walked through the trail on our way to Acqua restaurant. Around 6 km. Very beautiful. Pass through a few ruins along the way. It gives you a different perspective of the area. Reasonably hot going but well rewarded with a nice swim and a brew at the restaurant. Treat yourself to a swim also as the beach would have to he one of the nicest we came across. Alaties beach . Worth a Google or trip advisor search

Of the three trails from Fiskardo this was our favourite. Some steep climbs on loose stoney ground but if you take your time this should not be a problem, we are in our mid 70’s and enjoyed the trail. The views from the top are outstanding. Please note take plenty of water as no shops or restaurants are on route after Foki. A keen eye has to be kept for markers and signs along the route. In summer an early start would be advisable to avoid the mid day heat
