The picture here is not of the Venetian Lighthouse. We always used to take the circular walk from Fiscardom, taking in the Venetian Lighthouse, which was in a poor state of repair. In 2018 work was started on the lighthouse and we looked forward to returning to see it this year. Sadly the gates are locked so there is no longer access to the public . Such a shame.

Not a trek, more of a stroll. Well worth exploring the peninsular and it will only take you 30 minutes, an hour maximum...

Short walk on a path from Fiscardo. It was sweet. Can get in but it's nice to have a little look and a walk through some woodland.

Easy walk from town centre through lovely woods and with coastal views. You are able to see the 6th centuray Basilica, the Venitian lighthouse and and the more modern one.

We walked over to Emblisi Bay and came back via the lighthouses. Well marked trail and lovely views. Not too far from Fiskardo so easy to get to

Well signposted gentle walk through the trees to the very end of the bay. A lovely view when you get to the end with some other ruins nearby to have a brief look at

Walk around the harbour and take the trail to the Venetian lighthouse onto the Victorian lighthouse and the basilica ruins. The ground is a bit rough with a few small scrambles. It took about 40 minutes but We were in no rush. Enjoyed lunch on the harbour side at Elli’s restaurant looking out to sea

We stayed in a nearby village so dropped into Fiscardo to get supplies and have a nosy.
I'd seen the walk online so headed round the port taking the track up to the headland. It's a fairly easy going track, with symbols to follow( although it's difficult to lose your way) and some signposts to follow. Going anti-clockwise as we did takes you to the Venetian lighthouse, then the newer British built one before taking you up the hill to the Byzantine church ruins. You can wander around the lighthouses but no longer access inside, although you can wander around the ruins of the church.
It's not a long walk, we spent an hour here but did take our time as we were exploring the ruins for ages.
There is some shade but it's not always there so I would image it could get quite hot during the middle of the day

A pleasant stroll from the harbour first brings you to the old Venetian Lighthouse, and then the more modern one. Do take care... sensible trainers advised !!! not flip flops, as this is a walking path.

Good views,
