Unaware of existence unless read town leaflet or aTrip Advisor mention.Behind locked gates from town or behind seafront high wall impossible to view over.If this is a significant site then most visitors will be unaware and would never find it !

These ruins seem totally abandoned? Although there are signs there is no entry and no way of viewing what are historic ruins. A great pity that there seems no interest from the local authorities to rectify this. So disappointing.

I did see the wall next to the beach and it has signs telling about what's inside, but it looked as if it was private property. It should be better advertised!! There are no signs indicating how to go in, nothing... I'm unhappy I missed it. Maybe next time...

This excavation, an easy walk from the beach, is small scale but worth the walk and 10 minutes. Much better ruins all over Portugal and impressively fairly nearby in Estoi a suberb of Faro.
