I really enjoyed this visit. The museum is small but very well presented. What is unusual is the focus on pre-Axomite civilization (also pre-Christianity). The artefacts are beautiful and amazingly intact. Worth a visit if you are in the Mekele area.

This museum opened in October 2015 and shows the artefacts from 3 archeological excavations nearby. It also has a huge diesel generator which the local people bought to provide electricity. It is a lovely building with a very proud and well informed staff, the manager...More
