    WOW, WOW and WOW
WOW, WOW and WOW!!! Wow, wow and wow!! We booked two Spitfires and a Chase plane with family in formation! My husband Robert was to fly in one spitfire and his father Barry in the other. This was a complete surprise for Barry who only found out once we were there. Barry is seriously ill so this was to be a very special day. What can I say. It was not only emotional but truly the most amazing experience of our lives. Everyone from the pilots, ground crew, office and museum were outstanding and incredible. They obviously just love their job and by heck it shows. Can not recommend enough would give 10 stars if I could. Thank you flyaspitfire.com for a memory made in heaven!
Hi Sarah, Fantastic photos, it looks like the whole family got in on the action! Thanks for flying with us and for taking the time to leave a review.

What a experience of a lifetime
What a experience of a lifetime shared with my family & friends in the chase plane. Ground crew and Barry my pilot made every moment special. Highly recommended doing 5 victory rolls and being able to take control for 10 minutes . Family & friends had a great time in the chase plane and paid extra to fly around Leeds castle and country side, pilot took great care of them. Hanger tour guide spent time explaining the hanger and being able to talk to the workers working on the wings shows how much work goes into keeping these planes in the air.
Hi Richard, Thanks for leaving a review and for choosing to fly with us. We're so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your flight and tour.

    How can anyone beat that?
The experience was brilliant from beginning to end, and then some! I knew roughly what to expect from the day, but when it was suggested that my wife and friends fly alongside in the chase aircraft they jumped at the chance, and that made it all even better. There were so many "firsts" for me. One; flying in such a beautiful, iconic aircraft. Two; flying in close formation with another aircraft. Three; actually taking control of the aircraft for a few minutes. Four; flying inverted during two "Victory" rolls we did. I had to keep metaphorically pinching myself because I was actually the one in the air and not the one on the ground, looking up and wishing.... Flying a Spitfire from (R.A.F.) Biggin Hill to the White Cliffs of Dover on a perfect summers' day, how can anyone beat that? Thank you to all at the Heritage Hangar for making our special day even better. Dave George.
We are so pleased you and your family enjoyed the experience. Thank you for giving us such a glowing report!

High level of customer service made this an incredible day to remember
I didn’t actually fly in a Spitfire but my friend did and I flew up in the spotter plane so that I could photograph them. Despite being terrified initially I thoroughly enjoyed the flight. In fact I loved it. It was exhilarating and exiting. I was bowled over by the level of customer service. Everyone that was involved in the day made you feel like a VIP. They were so unhurried and courteous and explained everything calmly. It was a very special experience and beautifully executed by the staff.
Yes flying in the chase plane is only second to actually being in a spitfire! We are so glad you thoroughly enjoyed your day with us.

Worth Every Penny to Fly in one of these Iconic Aircraft.
It may cost a lot of money but well worth every penny, especially when you understand the work that goes on behind the scenes to maintain these iconic aircraft. From arrival to ending my trip the staff made sure I was well looked after, both before and after the flight and during the very interesting hanger tour. The flight ? What can I say, it lived up to expectations. From the start-up, taxi, take-off to the flight to the coast and the victory rolls, it had it all. Jez (the pilot) kept me informed and made sure I was comfortable with what we were doing. I also took the controls for a few minutes, until turbulence made me decide my turn was done. My advice, save as much as you can and definitely do one of the longer flights.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and for choosing to Fly a Spitfire with us.

    A Grand Day Out
I had initally booked the 'Sit in a Spit' package in 2019, but due to Covid-19 and other issures, I was not able to tuse te voucher. I contacted the Biggin Hill Hanger earlier this year and I explaind the situation why I had not attended. I was very pleased to be told that the company would still honour my voucher, but that the 'Sit in a Spit' option had been withdrawn due to Health and Safety vouchers. I was offered the standard Factory Tour for me and a guest as an alternative. Well, I finally attended on 21st July. I had a great day at the hanger and our host for the tour was Austin. His historical knowledge both of the company and of the Spitfires that the company owned and ran, was excellent. Austin's narative was very informative and he included many stories and anecdotes that added to the experience. During our 90 minute tour we were able to see some of the Spitfire operate, before we were shown arond the various aircraft projects under restoration or being overhalled. The Spitfire Mk1a (P9372) restoration was of particular interest. All in all this was a great day out and I am aready planning a return visit. Recommended.
We're glad it was worth the wait . We should see P9372 flying soon!

    Dream come true!
On the eve of my 50th birthday, I celebrated by flying in a Spitfire T9, MJ627 from Biggin Hill to the white cliffs of Dover. It truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity and a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I had three of my dearest friends with me, who rode in the chase plane, and the experience was just as amazing for them as it was for me. If you can afford this experience, please do it! We had such a warm and personal greeting by Ella, who took care of us from start to finish. She seemed just excited as we were! The pilot (Barry), ground crew (Ray and one other guy), and tour guide (Laurie) were all a class act - lovely, friendly, professional, funny, experienced, and really made the day extra special for me. We had a lot of great banter, laughter, fun, and taking the mickey! They showed genuine interest in me as an enthusiast and in their jobs and kept safety as a priority. Ray showed me photos of the pilot who had flown the same Spitfire and also took the mickey when I didn’t know the differences between the British Spitfire and the US Mustang! Hahahaha! Barry was fantastic and let me take the controls a few times. He treated me with 5 five barrel rolls, one of which was a victory roll over the Battle of Britain Memorial! I’ve never done rolls before, and I loved every minute of it! I don’t think I stopped smiling or laughing from excitement the entire flight! Flying in formation with the chase plan over the cliffs was also exciting! We were close enough to see each others’ faces, and they got some spectacular photos from their plane, including the break away manoeuvre and even one of the barrel rolls! The rolls and flying in formation were probably my favourite bits in the air. Other things to know: recorded videos of various angles of the entire flight were taken and provided on micro SD cards; take sunglasses if it’s a sunny day; directions were spot on; water / coffee available upon arrival and preparation; gift shop with t-shirts, fleece jackets, mugs, stickers, and other items is on site; the tour of the hangar / museum was interesting and had all sorts of planes and vehicles from several countries. Thank you, Ella, Ray, Barry, Laurie, and all of the unnamed team for a top notch day and making this a dream come true!
Thank you so much for a wonderful review Kathy. We thoroughly enjoyed making your experience with us so memorable and hope to see you at the Heritage Hangar again one day.

If you're interested in warbirds, book it now!!
I didn't do the Spitfire flight, just the Hangar tour...the operations manager Ray was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot about the Merlin engine and the aircraft that that were powered by. The Hangar is more than Spitfires but I won't list everything here so as not to spoil the surprise for any who visits. I don't often go back but I would definitely visit again. Looking forward to when they get the Mosquito... Thanks all for a really excellent experience..
Thank you for leaving a super review and we look forward to seeing you at the Heritage Hanger again.

A flight of a lifetime to Beachy Head and back with barrel rolls over the cliffs. Allowed to take control of this iconic plane and Pilot Isabel gave me total confidence and fun.
Right from booking the flight with Sylvia to adjusting to the best weather, the Spitfire I dreamed of going in with Hannah, to the ground crew who were professional but fun and looked after my 89 yr old Mother and helped her take pictures, a great tour of the workshops/ museum with Simon. Attention to detail was "on point", totally professional company but like family, made the whole day fun and exciting.
The BEST Experience I've EVER had and I've done a lot of stuff!!!!

Thanks EVERYONE X

A professional and welcoming experience into the world of the Spitfire and Warbird experience at Biggin Hill.
Excellent communication in the lead up experience, providing full and detailed information on what to expect and what is expected of you.
There are limitations on height and weight. To comply with Civil Aviation Authority one must be conversant with the procedures required, as explained in a video.
A warm welcome on the day with an introduction to the workshop that maintains these excellent thoroughbreds of vintage aviation.
The exceptional service by ground crew and pilots makes for a day that will stay with you forever.
My wife participated in the flight by taking an opportunity to fly in the ‘Chaser’ plane experiencing the wonderful flight over the White Cliffs of Dover.
Thank you for the opportunity to get a better understanding of what we owe as a nation to ‘The Few’.
A historic journey across Kent’s and our green and pleasant land.

Price wise this is a once in a lifetime experience. We were fortunate enough to be able to have this fantastic opportunity as a family.

I was in the spitfire and family were in the chase plane. To say that the staff were helpful and welcoming would be an understatement. This is a highly professional organisation. Every effort was taken to ensure that everyone was safe and (equally importantly) felt safe.

The actual flight was glorious. We were amazingly lucky with the weather. Highlights in the spitfire were the victory roll, having a go in control of the plane and the surreal experience of looking over the iconic wing towards the white cliffs of Dover. My family in the chase plane enjoyed the close up of a spitfire in flight and some outstanding views of the Kent countryside.

If you ever have the opportunity to experience this just do it!

What an amazing experience! Totally professional but so much fun. Extra flights were put on to battle the consistently poor weather. The hangar and workshop tour was an awesome introduction and the sights and sounds delightful. My flight was early evening and the light was almost surreal. We paid for the chase plane option (highly recommended) for the other members of our group which they really enjoyed. The actual flight experience with victory roll and wingover has got to be done to be believed, not to mention the spectacular views of the Kent countryside. Video package, pictures, certificate, badge, and after flight debrief are icing on the cake. To be up close and intimate with a Spitfire has been a lifelong dream and all expectations were greatly exceeded by these wonderful, welcoming, and professional people.

One of the best experiences I've ever had. All the staff were brilliant and we had plenty of time for photos before and after the flight. The tour of the hangar was a great addition to the whole experience.

The most amazing experience, loved every minute! Flying in the Spitfire was just brilliant, the time went too quickly. I was able to take the controls and fly over the Kent countryside. And heading back we did three Victory Rolls!
The family came to watch and some of them went in the chase plane and flew alongside the Spitfire to wave and take photos :)
Fantastic staff made the day.
This was the best birthday present ever.
