It is every beautiful and wonderful place to be in. I was very impressed with the quality of furniture and their setting style was very welcoming and comfortable. The place has a wide variety of activities to do and their services is exceptional. And not to mention the food was mouth watering and very tasty. It was my first time having to go into a wine gallery and taste different kinds wines and I must say that was fun of my lifetime experience. The gallery has beautiful artworks and different kinds of paintings. If you're a nature lover, this place is for you. It is full of life, has fresh breeze and wildlife places. I would highly recommend one to pay for a visit.

Magnificent scenery, but we feel we were possibly scammed by so-called park officials. We left the National road (no fee) to drive the Blesbok and Oribi loops, 6km and 4km When all the other cars had left one particular viewing spot we were approached by a man and a woman, in uniform but in an unmarked car. They demanded payment of R250 for a permit for 4 of us. We were not comfortable with this but paid. We left feeling that we’d probably been taken in. If there is a legitimate fee we would happily pay - at a properly signposted site.

Spoilt a beautiful drive.

I went there for an afternoon visit and it was stunning. We drove past a few wildebeest before we stopped to look at the dam, the dam was beautiful it was slightly overflowing and there were a few ducks in the dam. After the dam we saw a jackal and then we went to the vulture hide, but we didn't see any vultures(that was the only downside) and then we came back to Clarence. I must say that the park was in very good condition.

There's a reason it's called the GOLDEN Gate National Park... Driving through the park in October, the rich, warm colours of the landscape are so striking!
And winding your way through the mountains from the Clarens side towards Fouriesburg, the rock formations become ever more epic with each turn!
A stunning drive through amazing scenery!

My favorite part was definitely the Cleopatra pools. These are hidden between the mountains, beautiful white round shaped very smooth rock with cool river running through it. Thanks to Gideon our guide we went in and out with no problems

After visiting lovely Clarens, we drove 12 miles east on R712 to the open entry gate of this national park. For the first 3 miles, we entered the rugged canyon of tall sandstone cliffs passing the Gladstone Stables and the beautifully sited Golden Gate Hotel(petrol station) then descending the next 17 miles, the canyon opened up to long grassland views with distant sculpted buttes. These southern Utah-like views were absent birds and mammals until a few miles past the exit gate, where we watched a large herd of Kudu grazing peacefully near the roadside.

The GG National Park is a bit rundown from its previous excellent service. The Dinosaur Museum has been built at great expense but has never opened, which is a disappointment as this is now a waste of money.

We only drove through Golden Gate and the mountains are magnificent. Nature has sculptured them so beautifully that it is impossible to imagine the centuries it has taken to create these marvelous "statues"
