Overview

With its sandy shoreline, clear shallow water and a treasure trove of rock pools, the beach at Maenporth is brilliant place for a picnic - but so is Swanpool beach, for all the same reasons, and it has the added advantage of a nature reserve behind with an abundance of wildlife. This short 1.7 mile stroll on the South West Coast Path links the two beaches: walk back the same way, or catch the bus.

This is an interesting walk, the terrain is uneven and you can spend more time looking at the ground rather than the views

Well worth the walk - around 4-5 miles return. Cafes serve local food including recommended crab sandwich. Very scenic and lots to see and do along the walk.

Great views, fresh sea air and very good exercise. This is what sea walks in Cornwall are all about.

Lovely walk along the cliffs following the South West Coast Path. A bit muddy in places. Heaps of stunning views of the bay.

We visited a couple of weeks ago, we had the most beautiful February weather. We parked at Maenporth which is my haven at any time of year. We walked the coastal path to swan pool where our young children were rewarded with an ice cream...More

Super walk but very popular with dog walkers and tourists, so avoid the summer. If you carry on as far as Falmouth you can stop for a bite to eat before heading back.

This is probably the pick of the falmouth coast walks. The walk is unsurfaced and quite narrow at times so its not really for anyone with limited mobility. Wherever you park, its there and back again - unless you start out with a taxi to...More

The Cornish Coastal Footpath is a great public amenity. This is just a short and relatively easy part of it that should be accessible to most people. There are muddy stretches after rain.
