A really nice experience with 2 very friendly owners!
A magical tour in the snow with friendly horses.
The tour was also long and really worth the money. After a nice Fikka and coockie.
Thank you for this great relaxing experience!

This is a beautiful horse ranch owned and operated by two lovely ladies that will surpass all of your expectations.
I wanted to surprise my girlfriend on our 4 years anniversary and the Winter Ride was the perfect choice for the occasion.
I've been hinting at my partner about the surprise that I had planned and she said and I quote: "I have an idea of what it can be and now I'll be disappointed if it isn't that 😅" She got it just right!
Almost 2h of horseback ride in a natural reserve, a total of 5h of horse contact and 1 delicious meal proved to be exactly what she wished without even realising. Both of us made memories that will last a lifetime and I'm sure that we'll be back for more.

I was so lucky to visit the horses of Taiga.
I had an amazing week of fun thanks to Rianne and Floriane.
I have to give a special thanks to Skutte and Mahona who carried me on their backs for a wonderful horse adventure.
The organization is perfect and Floriane and Rianne were very devoted to make my stay unforgettable.
It was a dream to come here and I received more than I had expected. ❤️

We had a lovely time with the best horses and an awsome guide! A beautiful, sunny day in the woods. A nice lunch made over the fire.
This is definitely worth a visit and a revisit!

Absolutely recommend Horses of Taiga. I was recently on the Frozen New Year Tour and it was even better than my high expectations.

I’m not a seasoned rider and wanted to experience half-day and day tours combined with the opportunity to learn about Swedish Lapland.

Flo is extremely knowledgeable on the local environment. Being perfectly multilingual including Swedish and being involved in a local tourism association like Gold of Lapland certainly helps. We had the opportunity to meet very interesting people, passionnate about what they are doing (being sled dogs, reindeers, carrots or...chaga)

The horses are « friends », have a large meadow where they usually stay, so it is extremely easy to go outside. They know what to do, so there was no problem for me as an amateur to follow the tour. Icelandic horses have special gaits like tölt that is so comfortable. I have ridden two horses that both had a perfect tölt and of course other gaits also.

The landscape is gorgeous. There are lots of trails around Svansele and an easy access to a natural reserve, a large river along the farm or a lake around granitic formations. There are different stages of maturity of the taiga around, so quite diverse landscapes. The frozen lanscape was mind blowing, and then we had a few warmer days (around 0). Horses of Taiga has provided all equipment to protect against the cold, so no problem if you get prepared a bit (thermal underwear).

Flo is also an expert in baking and cooking. I really appreciated the Swedish Fika, home-made cakes with the best coffee of the world (swedish coffee according to locals - but I do agree) or tea which is also not so bad.

We stayed in the old school in the center of the small village, a nice place with all amenities. Had many opportunities to stay at the farm with Flo and Reanne who are so welcoming and shared all lunches and dinners with us.

If you are looking for an experience combining activities with Icelandic horses and learning about life in Lapland, you should definitely contact Flo!

Even before we arrived it was clear that Fló is a host who wants her guests to have the best vacation possible. We asked for a combination of 2 tour options (midsommar and the long trail) and within no time we got ourselves an adjusted program that fitted our wishes perfectly.

The horses are amazing, in very good condition and even after a long day ride they didn’t seem to tire out. The food was very good, I’m a vegetarian and there was a vegan in the group aswell but this was no problem at all.

In between the amazing rides and the cozy nights around the campfire there was time for swims, sauna’s and hikes (with and without sleddogs). It was a memorable week and we will for sure return for the winter tour aswell.

An absolute recommendation for everyone who loves some adventure in the outdoors.

We had a lovely trip with Horses of Taiga in March 2019. Flo is an excellent guide and cook and the horses are all lovely.
When booking holidays like this, you often worry about how professional a company is, and sending money via bank transfer abroad is always daunting. Flo was really helpful throughout the booking process and gave lots of tips on what to bring and on organising things.
Getting there is no problem, flights to Stockholm and Skelleftea (pronounced Shell-eff-tay-o) are frequent and at sensible times. Flo will pick you up from Skelleftea which is a tiny airport so no problem finding her as there’s only one room in arrivals!
The accommodation in Winter is in the old bakery in Svansele which is basic, but clean and warm. Meals and showers are a (slightly cold) 30-second walk to the next building which is the old school. The night away is in a guest house in Petiktrask which was clean and smart, but a little chilly when we went as the pipes had frozen. Flo’s great food and company more than made up for this. We were a vegetarian and a vegan and this was no problem at all for her.
The Horses are really amazing, fit, friendly and strong and with great characters. You really feel privileged to be trusted with these animals which are clearly not just ‘working horses’ but part of Flo’s family.
In just three days we saw the Northern lights, frozen lakes, reindeer being herded and the incredible Taiga forest.
We are definitely planning to visit again and I couldn’t recommend highly enough.

My husband and I had a thoroughly perfect and amazing stay at Horses of Taiga. Our awesome guide Fló enabled us to experience so many different and awesome activities: dog-sledding tour, riding in the snowy forest and sighting moose, seeing northern lights and so much more! We can highly recommend Horses of Taiga to have an unforgettable and breath-taking time in Lapland!
