Amazing view from the tower. Quite a climb but worth it. Good coffee shop beside the church with a nice selection of cakes. Delicious apple pie.

Moored for the night at this delightful village and had a great take away pizza from the Maltsters. Visited the beautiful church of St Helen and climbed the tower of 89 narrow steps, two ladders and a trap door to experience the fantastic views. The...More

The view from the top of Ranworth Church is well worth the effort and a generous donation to keep the ancient building going. The problem with nature reserves is when people come close the birds disappear! There is an excellent boardwalk out to the visitor...More

Ranworth is a lovely day out. Especially with kids. Try the boardwalk through to the visitor centre and learn about the flora and fauna of the broads. Or there’s a little boat trip from neighbouring Malthouse Broad. Climb the tower of St Helens church. The...More

Lovely reserve with several different habitats, only a short walk but good chance of seeing lots of different species. The visitors centre is a lovely building for watching the lake, and you can get refreshments there (though it’s not a cafe). Recommend for nature lovers,...More

We visited Ranworth by car. The centre by the staithe was busy but very few people walked through the short but fascinating nature trail to the NWT information centre at the end of the boardwalk. Staffed by very friendly, helpful volunteers, this was a lovely...More

No you can not hire boats at Ranworth. Nearest spot would be Oulton Broad or Acle bridge. Whispering Reed boats on Hickling Broad would be a good place to hire a sailing boat or Barton Turf Adventure Centre on Barton Broad.

Its about 25 minutes slow amble. Not too far at all and all either road or boardwalk. If you're feeling adventurous you could get the boat there and walk back.
