A bit of heaven in the middle of nowhere

The Italian reviews are absolutely correct. This is an extraordinarily beautiful church with lovely and powerful frescoes. Especially the creation stories in the early Bible stories. We are so glad that our guide in Venosa recommended this. And if you’re already in this town head up to the hilltop and don’t miss the view from there. It will be at its best. And the only restaurant in town is really down home and excellent. It is called Ristorante pizzeria 4 stagioni. About three or 400 L up on the right from the church of San Donato.
