Stayed in the guesthouse with shared bathroom facilities. Spacious living area & good kitchen facilities. Unfortunately our room had been invaded by flies but otherwise clean. Comfortable beds, but lighting in stairwell not working when we stayed so limited lighting at night to navigate stairs...More

One of the best camping we had, really in the middle of nowhere. The feel is unique, huge spaces around and mountains on the horizon. Nice restaurant with good food.

This farm is literally out in the middle of nowhere. There are quite a few buildings here including a hostel or hotel, a very picturesque church and a cafe/restaurant. They had soup that could be ordered, hot drinks, and Icelandic treats/pastries...we got hot chocolate and...More

An interesting farm with a number of buildings, a church and a small cafe. The frmhouse at one time housed thirty people and boasts many rooms to contain them all. Also a workshop..

Venture into the moonscape of Odadahraun, in the Obyggidir wilderness and you'll come across this little oasis, with its overly friendly goat, a rustic camping ground and very warm accommodation. Even in summer, it's pretty windy and chilly there. The restaurant had a very good...More

I LOVED IT HERE. Everything about it was so comforting. We weren't sure where to enter, because the door that seemed like the front door was guarded (lovingly) by a goat. We tried the door anyway and made it inside where it was warm and...More

Just getting here is an experience. Stunning scenery and the farm itself is interesting with a beautifully preserved church. Also available is a campground and food.

Our tour group made a stop here while venturing along the Ring Road, and it was well worth it... Despite being in a snowstorm, it was nice to see a working farm in Iceland, and everyone here was friendly... Especially the dogs! The happy marriage...More
