We cant ski so we decided to go to Lesotho for the snow tubing and bum boarding at Afriski. The kids loved it. The snow tubing and bum boarding slopes are not very long nor are they steep but its still great fun, even for adults who cant ski. The restaurant is the highiest one in Africa. The food was... First time trying to ski... well that was something.... we did the 2hr ski lesson which I felt was a serious waste of money, maybe our instructor was just not really feeling like doing a lesson that day, he showed us 3 basic things and then seemed to get bored and only hang around the people that were doing well,... Our chalet was very clean and inviting. Fire going in the living area the whole duration of our stay. Electric blankets on all the beds. Chalets are however very noise sensitive. Any movement from anywhere can be heard. Skiing great for beginners with qualified instructors. Not so great if your are an intermediate or advanced skier. There is only 1... More

First concern for any traveller would be the road to the resort - rest assured that it is tarred and in very good condition. However, locals drive like animals on the road, especially contractor vehicles and taxis, keep your eyes open. I would also heed to warnings from the lodge during periods of snowfall (check updates on the website) -... More

I was so impressed with Afriski! I had been told that, because I had been skiing before overseas, that Afriski would be a waste of time. Even though there is only one decent slope, it is long and advanced enough to work on technique and have fun. The T-bar is slow so choose your partner wisely ;) It is also... More

En-route to Sani Pass, we spent some time at the Sky Restaurant enjoying the views and marvelling at a ski slope in Africa. Sky Restaurant is huge and well equipped to cater to a a fun apres-ski crowd. Of course, we had to try the Kaiserschmarrn (which is what you would have somewhere in the Alps). Staff nice and friendly... More

Stayed at Afriski Lesotho for one evening for the first time on business. Now that may sound strange why one would go up to 3,200m to a Ski lodge in Africa for a business stay, but there are now already four diamond mines at the top of Lesotho about 30-40km further from Afriski. Being an engineer I visit those mines... More

We visited Afriski and the highest restuarant in Afrika 3010m above sea level as day visitors. It is a beautiful resort in the mountains. It was a welcome relief to find a place with familiar comforts, good wine and brilliant service. The resort comprises of various types of accommodation from back packers to luxury. We had great fun watching the... More
