Duomo di Murano Santi Maria e Donato is a wonderful church in Murano. Its way off the beaten path so when I was there, I was the only one in the church other than two elderly artisans painstakingly restoring the floor. Up at the alter...More

Outside and inside this Cathedral is stunning. We enjoyed admiring it from outside with its interesting architecture. Inside the skill involved in making and decorating is wonderful - the floor is wonderful as is the dome. A must see when on Murano.

A wonderful place to visit, very quiet and has amazing floors. I spent a long time looking at the designs and there is some information to explain the meanings of the different patterns. It is amazing to realise how old the floors are and how...More

Well worth visiting if you are staying in or visiting Murano. Wonderful setting by the canal with an amazing mosaic floor. Restaurant the other side of the canal is also very good.

Our famiky stumbled upon his lovely church. Tgere are said to be dragons bones behind the alter (which we missed?) But the 1000 year old glass mosaic flooring was enough of a reason to suggest paying a small donation to visit. Beautiful church.

We stumbled upon Santa Maria e Donato while wandering around Murano. On general principle, we never skip an open church, and we were excited and surprised by the age and beauty of this relatively unknown basilica. The ancient mosaic floors alone are worth stopping in...More

A nice stop after the glass museum. No fee but collection box. The draw is the ancient floor of mosaic yiles. This in one of the oldest churches. Lol for the glass cross on the side wall.

The mosaics and decorations in general were quite beautiful. It's free, so don't hesitate to enter, it's definitely worth going.

The floors are amazing, and since there are few people they aren't covered up like at San Marco. Quiet peaceful church that is very serene and beautiful. Well worth a visit.

Very sure it is open on Sunday. It is a working church so there will be services but before or after is good.

Sorry, I can't remember the hours, however we were there on a Saturday and got to go in for a few minutes right after there was a baptism or some such event so it was abut mid-morning. I think they have some weekday hours... More
