Two members of our group were eager to visit Murano for shopping during our recent trip to Venice. I had poor memories of this Island from previous visits where we were hustled to the glass factories and their associated retail outlets where the real pressure...More

A real gem in the back streets, this church is definitely worth a stop for 20 minutes. The whole floor is covered with amazing mosaics and the place has a lovely, subdued atmosphere. There is some interesting artwork and the stations of the cross are...More

This was one of the oldest churches I have visited. I found it VERY interesting with an uncommon aged beauty. I enjoyed have the opportunity to see this church and will go back again.

The showstopper here is the mosaic - The whole floor is covered with intricate patterns you can easily spend an hour looking just at the floor.

A beautiful building to look out on the outside. On the inside, there is an incredible floor that has been wonderfully crafted. A must see in Murano.

Duomo di Murano Santi Maria e Donato is a wonderful church in Murano. Its way off the beaten path so when I was there, I was the only one in the church other than two elderly artisans painstakingly restoring the floor. Up at the alter...More

Outside and inside this Cathedral is stunning. We enjoyed admiring it from outside with its interesting architecture. Inside the skill involved in making and decorating is wonderful - the floor is wonderful as is the dome. A must see when on Murano.
