The saint of the island is laid in state in the church. The nuns watch over. We were allowed in during a service which was very kind of them, there were lots of tourist too! There is also a new church there.

This monastery is high on the hills above Sami, reached by road or walking. Amazing views over the island of Cephalonia and towards Ithaca. The monestry is only open at certain times but the views are worth it anytime.

Peaceful and stunning setting on top of a hill above Antisamos beach, Sami. Glorious panoramic views around the area and down to Antisamos.

A photographic opportunity if nothing else..remember to cover up shoulders and knees, even the men, which surprised us as elsewhere it has traditionally been aimed at women
