Large free car park which was a surprise. Nice walk up to top and worth it for the views, streets are cobbled so appropriate footwear helps (but not essential according to some of the people we saw !!). Streets on approach to the path full...More

We love this place. Small city. Kind of hard to walk if you go to the top, but it has great views. Shops inside, and lot of walkers, nice gates and old buildings. If you are on a car, be careful, roads at entrances are...More

I believe if you are interested in old forteress then there must be something to it. Apart from the point of view, the lining of tourist shops selling everything and nothing make this citadelle a bit boring. The main city doors have been well preserved...More

Walk up to the top for a fabulous view of the countryside. A lovely walk up the main road. Stop along the way at some lovely shops and pubs. Enjoy the ambiance.

You can't go into the building (it's a school) but you can walk the walls and of course visit the shops within the walls. Very interesting buildings and the information boards make fascinating reading. So many pilgrims still walking the route!

The climb was hard(especially when pushing a baby in the trolley on cobblestoned street) but it was worth the hard work. The view from top is breathtakingly beautiful.

We enjoyed our visit to St Jean and the citadel was wonderful to see, such amazing structures built so long ago for the protection of the town, worth the walk
