The 17th century Trepponti (also known as Ponte Pallotta) is probably the most famous bridge in Comacchio and its most representative monument. It is located along the ancient Pallotta waterway that led to the Adriatic Sea and was the fortified gate of the city. Below...More

Comaccchio is a small humble village with a beautiful architecture, typical of a lagoon location in the Venice area. The bridge has been nicely restored and is unique in its genre and it leads onto canals which will remind you of Venice but without the...More

We clambered aboard the batana for a lovely guided visit along the canals of this pretty town, with the history of the place recounted to us by an enthusiastic young volunteer. He paddled us under bridges and enlightened us about Comacchio's history. A really pretty...More

Comacchio's a great town to stroll around - pocket-sized and interesting ... a great out-of-the-way spot to just live like a local for aday or 2 (or more).

Hot and very still, just before a thunder storm, more other people than I would have expected, and again everything closes for the Italian version of siesta. A very 'nice' place to visit, but get away from the bridge and the town is enchanting.

A must for all venice lovers! Wonderful to wander around and take in the architecture. Lots of restoration work has been done recently.

This bridge lies in the heart of town, free of cars. Have a walk past small restaurants and classic houses over pavement along small canals. It's almost like walking in a painting. The bridge looks like a small castle with a few small towers. 3...More
