Visiting Abesee in October, the day was rather cold. There was a reconstruction going on on the "original" Aberseehouse, that spoiled the view and the silence a bit. Before heading for the walk, we had a nice lunch in the Aberseehouse. The path leads around...More

We hiked to and around the Arbersee. The hike there was at times a bit rough but the hike around the lake was a delight. There were quite a lot of other hikers but the views and the lovely forest were a delight, one of...More

We really enjoyed our walk around the lake, with lovely views and dramatic landscape. Lots of interesting information boards on the way

It is beautiful lake with well maintained trail around the whole lake. But not recommended for wheelchairs and stroller, there are some places that they wouldn´t be able to pass through.

We wanted to go to Großer Arbersee by hiking trail from Bayerisch Eisenstein. Fortunately, we had a hiking map - without it we couldn't find the right road. The trail-signs system was terrible. Where we could, we asked locals which trail we should take. Nevertheless,...More

Situated on a bend on the road toward the sky area on Arber, a Bavarian mountain not far from Bodenmais. Authentic Bavaria and highly popular. Very busy in the summer at the week-ends. Hot and cold menu and local beer. You can rent peddle boats...More

the cost of the cable seemed a bit much but given we spent all day 'on the mountain' it worked out okay. We had a great day climbing up and over the rocky 'peaks' and enjoying the amazing views. Lunch was super fast given how...More
