You can get to Agios Savvas on the bus to Vlychadia but check the times first. A taxi is also an option but give yourself enough time to explore and enjoy this marvel. The experience will change you. The views of Pothia are sensational and...More

Although St Savvas Monastery-Church is breathless and beautiful, this is the 3rd time the same nuns Savvina & Isidora have been very rude and unwelcoming, gossiping and asking secretly for money. Visit but avoid these two nuns!

We were on Kalymnos in the End of September / Beginning of October for climbing. The weather was amazing (26-27 Degrees) and it was sunny all the time. We decided to take a day off of climbing to see the Island and the Agios Monastery...More

Agios Savvas is on top of the mountain in Kalymnos. Very peaceful and spiritual monastery. It is absolutely beautiful and the view over the island is amazing. Go into the chapel and light a candle and you will embrace the peace within yourself.

The monastery is very well maintained and beautiful and have the most amazing view over Pothia. We walked up the path from the parkinglot in the forrest and came past a small lightblue church and thebig cross.

Agios Savvas is one of the most perfectly situated monasteries on the Island of Kalymnos that brings one inner peace and closer to God. I can never visit Kalymnos without going to Agios Savvas! Iconography beyond aesthetic, historical and religious value! It is a place...More

Located high on a hill overlooking the harbor, this is a lovely spot to walk around, take some photos, go inside and light a candle.

i think this is the main attraction of the island. A monastery on the top of the mountain. Built on a rock.

Beautiful monastery and it is simply a must when visiting Kalymnos. If you have anyone with walking problems. suggest driving up through the gates if they are open as there is limited parking up at the church itself. Very peaceful place

The walk up to Agios Savvas is striaghtforward enoug in Pothia, but it attracts coach loads of tourists. These peiodically destroy the calm serenity to be found inside its walls. An amazing number of them are inappropriately dressed for a visit to what is to...More

If you don't visit this monastery while visiting Kalymnos you're at a loss. Saint Savvas protects the island and if you visit and read more into his story you will be truly touched. A must do activity.
