Not an ancient church, but very pleasing nonetheless - set high above the village, although the walk is not too strenuous. Be sure to wander around the hilltop a bit - there are some stunning views as well as a number of shallow caves to...More

L'm not really sure you can drive near the top. That looked closed/not a player during our visit today. It is a steep climb and there are two routes. If you take the one that also appears to allow some traffic note that it does...More

Either walk through the village passing quaint old houses with original features and architecture quite steep in places or you can drive up. When up at the top you are greeted by impressive cathedral both from the outside with its silver domes which twinkle in...More

This is a not insignificant basilica commanding the most amazing views over the Lot valley. You can see for miles in all directions. See also the grotto and the castle keep ruins built by the crusaders, Richard I I think but don't quote me.

At the top of a steep hill is this lovely church which is more beautiful and interesting from the outside than the inside. The view is fantastic and it is well worth going around the church to the caves/grotto and the viewing platform. There is...More

Penne is a lovely, quaint little town with lots of interesting, intermingling streets, all ready a for a good mooch. The architecture is fascinating. The church itself is peaceful and beautiful but you need to be fairly fit as you can't park close and the...More

The church looks great from the valley, with a lovely cupola, however, be aware that the church is 20th century and of no interest except spiritual. However, there are also the remnants of the castle and a viewing platform at the other end of the...More
