Park your car in the little car park on the right of the archway and walk into the square. It is lively in the evening with coloured lights strung between the trees and locals going in and out of the bars and restaurants. In the...More

THe strees are so narrow that they have a traffic light system to let you in and out of the village. We lunched in the main square at Sas Le Chou Rouge which was very pleasant and good value for money.

The village in a pleasant place to walk around. In summer the main square is closed to traffic and almost fully occupied by cafes and restaurants, one can also walk down the side streets which are more or less traffic free in summer, Look south,...More

Walt Disney couldn't have done a better job of preserving the feel, sights, and sounds of an ancient French mountain village. Every street, every doorway, every tree, every business is neat and correct. Just walk slowly and enjoy.

What a charming village. It is practically car free which is a bonus these days. It is full of art galleries and many interesting shops. The centre is delightful and unspoiled. Ronald Searle lived here for many years.

This is one of our favourite places in France. We return here annually. The little town is beautiful. Fantastic restaurants, people and sights. Great little markets TIP: book if wanting to eat in the evening.

Deservedly one of the 150 or so “Most beautiful villages of France”, Tourtour is worth a detour. It sits high up on a hill, with spectacular vistas over the surrounding countryside. The heart of the village is a pedestrianised central 'square' planted with many trees...More

We walked around after having breakfast at a nearby hotel. We liked the views, found the market (Wednesday and Saturday are the market days) worth a walk through but unlike Aups, the village where we are staying, found things just a bit touristy (nothing like...More
