The shops and so on in Salts Mill are well worth visiting - I've never been to such a lovely bookshop. If you don't want to shop it's a chance to look at local boy David Hockney's work, and when you're done go to the...More

Great for shopping and great for food, the cafe is always busy -- especially on a Sunday but the staff keep things moving. There is a good array of books, art books on the ground floor and a wider choice on the upper floor. We particularly like...More

"The arrival of spring" was the highlight of our visit, if you haven't seen this series, I highly recommend a visit. Lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Make sure you watch the audio visual display to get a full history of the Salts Mill, the owners and their legacy. The gallery is excellent and there is a cafe but we did not visit.

Had a look around the mill, lots of books on sale and at the time of visiting there was an exhibition of David Hockney pictures. A good place to visit because of the history.

It wasn't memorable at all for us. We had been wanting to go for a couple of years and when the opportunity came we were disappointed. In fact I can't remember much about it at all.
