Great walks up to and around Stoodley Pike, and great views from the ridge it sits upon overlooking Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and the Calder Valley. You can go about 1/4 way up the tower itself up some quite dark steps (torch/phone light useful) to a...More

This monument can be seen in most directions around the area. Standing proud on a desolate moorland hill top. Built of Millstone Grit by Prisoners of War I believe. Huge chunks of rock make you wonder how it was ever built where it was. It’s...More

The views from the top are amazing. A hike for locals and travellers alike. Nearby is shepards rest and top brink for a beer or a brew after a good walk.

Various ways up to the monument on the top of Stoodley Pike. A steep climb is the most direct route from London rd, but you can also walk a more gentle route up .The views from the top are fantastic and well worth the walk.

The hike upto the pike is a nice relaxing walk, with a fair bit of uphill. The view from on the pike is worth the trip however. After the walk why not walk across to the Top Brink pub for a well deserved cold drink...More

Living quite close by we have climbed Stoodley Pike to reach the monument from several different locations, along a variety of different paths over the years. Some ascents are easier than others, some have better paths, some are through boggy ground. It's probably best to...More

There is a free car park at Withins Clough reservoir which we normally use. It's about a half to theee quarters of an hour uphill walk across the moor from there. I think that's about the nearest place to park.
