There are great views and a really interesting history here. Not a lot of ruins but a nice start to a stroll down into the town to eat at the marina.

Easily accessible by car, cheap entrance, a few big steps and you have the best view in the city! There is an open theatre as well in the castle that very often hosts shows during afternoon. Magnificent opportunity if you can combine both!

Worth a visit - but not well presented you are left to your own devices to explore - but it is interesting and commands great views over Kalamata

The entrance fee is about 2 euros, but the area of the castle is small and there is nothing to see. Beautiful view of Kalamat and a walk in the shade of scented pines That's all, There is no bench for sitting and enjoying

We needed to kill a little time before heading to the Benakopoulos Olive Mill, so we drove to the castle in Kalamata that we had noticed the previous day. It is a little hard to find the road entrance - it is around the north...More

There's not much left from the castle but the location on a hill means there is fantastic view of mountains, town and the sea. There were decent toilets and entrance fee only 1€.

Once inside it is interesting, but not too much remains of the original castle. Views are great of Kalamata and the Nedontas river with the new highway bridge. In a very nice part of town for walking around Nice walkable streets and small shops.
