Small ports both sides so scenic. Smallish ship means quicker loading/unloading. decent range of facilities on board - what more could you want?

Travelled from Cairnryan to Larne on a Sunday. Seamless journey from arrival to departure. Checking in was simple with emailed ticket. Boat was spacious, clean and staff polite and friendly. No issues whatsoever.

We tend to book in advance because our plans are fixed. However, I know from experience of talking to people on this route they often turn up and pay on the day. I imagine you need to be careful about peak season.
