About
Built by the architech Lluis Domenech i Montaner, Casa Navas is one of the best examples of European Art Nouveau. The house was built between 1902 and 1908, and is located in the very centre of the city of Reus. Casa Navas was a project for the marriage of merchants Joaquim Navas and Josepa Blasco. It was a building that housed their new dwelling and their clothing business. It showed the Mercadal square an imposing facade of stone with a tower located in the corner, now lost to the Spanish Civil War. Casa Navas is open every day for visits. The tickets are for sale in the official website, in Casa Navas, and in Reus Tourism Office.

- sophie l14 contributionsAN ESSENTIAL VISIT!Reservations were required and we had to wait several hours for our visit slot. If this happens to you, don't give up. This visit is EXCEPTIONAL! The welcome is warm, we have time for photos, time to enjoy ourselves. An essential visit for lovers of modernism and architecture.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 March 2024
- PepeFalleroValencia, Spain51 contributionsWe believed that Gaudí was the only father of modernism. We loved the Navas house. It is not a very large building but it is very beautiful, we took the guided tour and Benjamín explained it to us in detail. Very high level modernism, very well preserved. You cannot explain what you have seen, you have to make the visit but be careful, book before you go.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 11 May 2024

So Google it and have a look there too. Merci! The house was absolutely beautiful with its Art Nouveau décor. You must see it if you are in Reus. - Catharina50Eindhoven, The Netherlands7,121 contributionsUnique Modernista house with interior.House with retail space in Modernista architecture located on the central square. With interior. Still privately owned. Very photogenic, but photography is only allowed in the central areas. But there is already more than enough unique stuff to see there. Booking tickets in advance is necessary. These are for a guided tour. At the time, carte blanche for architect. A great combined work of art. Must seeVisited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 June 2024
- Paulo HOliveira de Azemeis, Portugal321 contributionsGORGEOUSLocated in Plaza Mercadal, this house already stands out from the outside. However, inside it is simply stunning. For the time in which it was built, the beginning of the 20th century, it has completely out-of-the-box details. The visit is guided with a very detailed explanation about the construction and evolution of the house.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 June 2024
- 2202208 contributionsGreat place to visitWhat an amazing place! Read the write ups in advance but hard to prepare you for what you see room after room. Utterly fascinating , truly a frozen piece of history. Make sure you book in advance to get the tour in the language you need, if you just turn up you may be unlucky as only guided tours. Our guide - Alexa- was excellent in explaining the story of the people, the house, the time, the artists and architect. It was an enchanting hour. When you leave turn right and a couple of blocks down is a fab ice cream place - Amarena - amazing ice cream plus gluten free cones!Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 July 2024
- Jesús María G15 contributionsEssential visitGoing to Reus and not visiting this house is a sin that can only be justified if it is materially impossible for any reason. It is impressive the number of modern advances with which it was provided at the beginning of the 20th century: an electric refrigerator, a central heating system (which curiously was never used), a smoke extractor in the kitchen... Excessive luxury in the service of an absolute carte blanche in favor of architect and decorator in a time when modernism was the last cry. Original modernist furniture is preserved, including bathroom furniture, wall decorations, ceilings, doors... It's really worth it.Visited August 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 26 August 2024

Son 13 eur a px. with Guide . The visit lasts an hour and a half. The beautiful house, however, I expected something more. Especially the shop and the lower floors are not included in this visit. Too bad.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 August 2024

An absolutely stunning modernist art nouveau house
Well worth the 12e fee pp (our children under9 were free).
The english tour was at 1pm and the tourguide needed to hustle us along as otherwise I could have spent hours looking at all the beautiful interiors.
My only regret was there were no postcards (and no photos were allowed except in the main entrance) so I wasnt able to better record the beauty of this modernist house for posterity.

One of the recommended visits to Catalan modernism, outside of Barcelona, in Reus. Spectacular. If you have visited Casa Batlló or La Pedrera, you should visit it. Just because it is not by Gaudí does not make it any less important. The visit is guided and offers a version with final vermouth and another without. Part of the house is visited, since the Civil War affected it and it is not 100% recovered.
Added value is the guide who accompanies you throughout the visit, with an excellent explanation and a very good sense of humor.

We have done the visit in Spanish with a guide who has been there for very little time, as she said, and it was noticeable because the group asked her several questions and the answer was always the same: "honestly, I don't know", it is not very professional. , the truth. Besides, I don't know if she was French, but she was not understood well. The house is a jewel that deserves a good visit enlivened with anecdotes, data and curiosities that we have been missing.

Nice architecture, but nobody tells you before you enter the place that there is forbidden to make photos (photos are allowed only at the hall)... Overrated and too expensive to see it. If I knew, I would not go there. And of course, I won't return...
Also weird organization - entering only with a guide, so you have to wait until specific time.

Casa Navas was amazing. Booked the 12noon tour with Ben who has such an amazing knowledge of the house and so passionate about the house and its history. He spoke in English and Spanish during the 1 hour tour and for 8 euros was a bargain 👌 If you are in the area this must be the top place to visit if you love modernism and a bit of art nouveau. I was blown away. The house is privately owned and great that the owners allow tourists to visit. Enjoy 😉

The spectacular nature of this house already justifies a visit to Reus, a city that already has many points of interest.
The box is an authentic jewel of modernism, preserved and cared for in a spectacular way. You must put protection on the feet to avoid damaging the mosaics on the floor and you are strongly requested not to touch the furniture or decorations.
The visit is done in small groups with a guide in several languages, which makes the experience even more interesting and pleasant.
I found it really fascinating and a totally recommendable experience.
Right price.

Fantastic tour this morning. Guide had a great sense of humour and made the tour informative and fun. Also, he did it in 3 languages so we could all enjoy it as much as possible. Beautiful house, so much to see. Well worth €10.

Go to tourist information in the main square just across from Casa Navas to pre book your tour as they sell out quickly each day. We booked an English speaking tour for the following day which suited us fine. The inside of the house is incredibly opulent and lavish in every detail. Our group of ten people got an hour long tour from a very knowledgeable guide. Can’t recommend this place highly enough
