- thomasdefise93Arlon, Belgium903 contributionsA mustI visited it in January, and there were not many tourists, so I got to experience all the interactive displays without any wait. I was able to explore all parts of the museum within a little over 90 minutes. So, if you are visiting during high season, plan for at least 2 hours. The museum is dedicated to the life and work of the renowned Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, who was born in Reus in 1852. It is very interactive right from the start. One of the highlights for me was the engaging exhibits that showcase scale models, drawings, and photographs of Gaudí's most famous works, including the Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, and Park Güell in Barcelona. Through these exhibits, visitors can learn about Gaudí's use of natural forms and materials, his experimentation with structural techniques, and his deep connection to Catalan culture and identity. Additionally, the museum explores Gaudí's influences, from nature and religion to mathematics and geometry, providing a comprehensive understanding of his visionary approach to architecture. During my visit, I particularly enjoyed the interactive elements that allowed me to experiment with Gaudí's design principles firsthand. These interactive displays brought his architectural concepts to life in a captivating way.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 April 2024
- HT01Lightwater, United Kingdom197 contributionsA great intro to Gaudi.A surprisingly and interesting 2 hours exploring the life and work of Gaudi. Staff were very helpful and soon got used to the automated guided tour. The trick is standing by and still near the exhibits. Quite modern compared to the rest of Reus but that is not a criticism.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 June 2024
- Veronika H82 contributionsA place to visit in ReusI’ve already visited this place with my parents 8 years ago, but still wanted to explore it last autumn. It’s a great opportunity to find out interesting facts about Gaudi. It is explained how his work was influenced by nature. When you buy a ticket, you will be given the headphones. The key point is to stay on designated areas of the exhibition to keep listening to the lecture.Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten 7 August 2024

We have a very pleasant impression of the city of Reus. We stayed at the NH de Reus, a very nice and well-located hotel, close to the center, and able to get there by car without complications. We stayed one day and were able to visit the Gaudi Museum, which we really liked, since we came from Barcelona, where we were able to appreciate the work of this crazy genius in that city. Also, thanks to the advice of the people at the hotel, we were able to eat very well at night, in a downtown neighborhood where, in addition to the one we went to, 3 tapas, there were other very nice restaurants. Then the next morning we complemented the trip with a visit and free tour in the city of Tarragona, 10 km from Reus, which I also recommend to visit. We were delighted with this visit, which was from Barcelona, and although we did it with only one night to stay, we could easily have stayed another night. Greetings

A well put together and informative museum about Gaudi. Probably better for people who don't know much about him and his work. Having seen and experienced many of his creations the museum seemed a little underwhelming to me. I also don't understand why previous reviews say that you need a couple of hours here as it's pretty small. We were here about an hour and saw everything.
I also think €10 entrance fee is too much.

Gaudí Centre Reus is a modern museum located in the main square in Reus (inside tourist office), a town in Tarragona Region. It is a museum, where you can learn about modernism and Antoni Gaudí, who was born near the city. Here you can see how the architect worked. Also, you can see some projects unfinished or not built. It is very interesting, especially if you are a modernism-lover.

A very well interpreted guide and insight into the works of Gaudi. Almost feels like it should be in Barcelona but Reus rightly claims Gaudi. I liked the way the audio guide automatically connected to the different parts of the exhibition.

A very well thought-out little museum that is crammed with Antonio Gaudi history. The funicular of la Sagrda Familia and the explanation of Catenarie Arches was fascinating.
Tour provided in multiple languages (via headset) and very accommodating staff.

My Hubby and I have been to Barcelona a few times and seen most of the moderism sites around the city. The tour guides have always been pretty imformative but we really wanted to know more about this wonderful guy.
We visited Reus on a 2euro bus trip while staying in nearby Salou. The town of Reus is wonderful with some lovely shopping and some nice Ramblas and cafes. The Gaudi centre is right in the heart of Reus a short walk from the bus route in a lovely plazza square.
the staff were very good and spoke good english. They showed us the best place to start and gave us each a head set and set it to english.
The exhibits were good and the information was very interesting. They have a movie that runs in differnt laungages and the staff member actually came and found us when she was running the english version.
there was a group of spanish school children there when we visited and the staff were very good at keeping them together while other visitors were near by.
they have a lift to all levels and lots of seating for people who are less mobile.
finish your visit with lunch on the top floor roof terrace restaurant. Its Michelin recommended and has a stunning view of the city and square.
A must for catalonian visits!

There's no examples of the master's work in Reus but its worth half a day there to visit the Centre for a bit of background before seeing the real stuff in Barcelona. Other places might pretentiously call it an 'Experience' as it's highly audio visual and the automatic system works well - no punching in numbers off a wall plaque, sensors in the ceiling detect you and start the appropriate bit in your languge. The staff are very helpful, one gets the feeling the town is trying very hard to make something of what it has got, which basically is its Gaudi background.

Having been to Barcelona and seen many of Gaudi's wonderful masterpieces, this was an insight into Gaudi's childhood and family, his life as a young man in Reus and the early life influences on his architecture.
The centre is easy to navigate; €9 for an adult, €5 for a senior/child (under 8 yrs free), the audioguide was automatic, just remember to look for the overhead sensors if you cannot hear the narrative. These sensors are numbered which is helpful in determining progression. All the exhibits have a well translated description in english. Don't forget to open the panels in the wall on the 2nd floor for lots of interesting trivia. And if you want to have a photo reminder of your visit; take a selfportrait at the end using the old fashioned looking camera and the touch screen - it will automatically send it on to your email.

The museum is housed in an unattractive building which does not befit such a great architect. Very interesting and informative for all ages. Cannot now wait for Barcelona. Pick up a map of buildings in Reus designed by contempories of Gaudi and do the walk.
